Software Updates
Thank you RickBullotta for checking! Do we know why I haven't got them yet? When I clicked the "Update Now" (don't remember exact words) on the sync 4 system, it said system is already up to date.
OK experts out there, riddle me this. Went to dealer yesterday to get the recalls taken care of. 21S56 - underbody insulation over driveshaft (parts ordered, approximately 1 week), 22S17 - reprogram trailer relay module (completed), and 22S26 - wiper arm replacement (parts ordered, approximately 1 week). Now, I have auto updates scheduled every night starting at 9:30pm. Last night, got home a little later after softball and happened to look at fordpass for whatever reason, and got a message about the update failing and it mentioned the trailer relay. Can I assume that once the recall was complete, there was also some OTA that was waiting on the recall to actually be done. It does say that I should not worry, that it will try again. I am also wondering if it is one of the ones that you cannot be driving for it to update. Any ideas???

The Update Now button doesn't go out and check the Ford severs for updates to download and apply like a mobile phone does. Tapping that button STARTS the update process for any PENDING updates that have already been downloaded to your truck and have NOT been applied because you didn't have a schedule set up. Read on ...
Some (most) OTA updates can be applied at any time, even when you are driving. For those, the Automatic Updates scheduling is irrelevant.
Some updates can't be applied unless the vehicle is NOT being driven, and it can't be driven while the update is being applied. This is what the scheduling is for.
The purpose of the scheduling days of the week and times for 'Automatic Updates' is to let the vehicle know when you are NOT expecting to be driving it so that it can apply any updates that must be applied only when the vehicle is NOT being driven. I'm sure you'd be pissed if you came out of work and went to drive home, but the truck wouldn't let you because it was in the middle of applying an update!
If you don't set a schedule to allow it to update the 'non-drivable' updates, they will ONLY be updated when you tap the 'Update Now' button.
Finally, for those non-drivable updates: An icon will appear in corner of your Sync screen advising you of a downloaded update that is waiting to be applied. It will wait until one of your scheduled date/times arrives OR until you hit the Update Now button to be applied.
As previously explained, once an update is applied, that can result in other updates being released for your truck. It is likely that the dealership didn't apply ALL available modules updates and/or one or more became available as a result of an update they did.

That button doesn't do what you think it does.

Good morning, if someone doesn’t mind can you run my vin, 1FTFW1E53MFB07307 , I purchased the truck on 3/2021. I have taken the truck in for the trailer brake and heat shield recall, also had them update my sync which after days of being at the dealership they supposedly had gotten the sync software updated to Version: V4.0.21281. I still don’t have access to camera in motion and my dashboard continues to reset. As far as I know none of the modules have received any kind of updates. Thank you in advance.
Can I get an update from this screen? The only thing I have noticed after my dealer said they have completed 21G01 is now when I hit the cruise button it says Blue Cruise. I don't have hands free, App still shows 2.7.1. 1FTFW1ED9MFB46183
The dealership is allocated 30 mins of driving time with your truck (that they can bill Ford for) to verify BC is working so it's ridiculous they closed out your 21G01 and gave it back to you like that.
Edit: @Ford Motor Co. how about contacting these dealerships before the same thing happens to other customers?

I just got a "Customer Satisfaction Program 22B08" letter from Ford -- " ..an internal error in sync or TCU will prevent the receipt of software updates for these modules..." "Ford has authorized your dealer to update the software.. free of charge.."
Before I make an appointment can someone please run my Vin and let me know where I stand?
I was at the dealer two weeks ago for the under-body insulation and trailer control recall fixes and the dealer told me at that time they were having all kinds of issues trying to update the software and wouldn't attempt it as it could tie the truck up "for days"!

Thanks!
