Monday widget says Synch v4.0.21281 and the truck was driven 6 miles (noon). 4pm he calls as said it was all done, i asked why the synch ver was still not correct, he just said all work was done. I asked if the tech confirmed BC was active, yes he said everything was good ( not that BC worked. I went to pick it up and he still could not answer any questions. Said they work to Fords specs not internet or google stuff. Bottom line is BC does not work and Ford pass seems screwed up as the recall still show and oil level shows no oil was added ( widget is showing the same but does report correct fuel.) Supposedly one of the largest dealers in region.

Could one of you folk @Livnitup look up my vin 1FTFW1E86MFA33598 and see what is left to update?
Thanks!
I believe they are supposed to get it to the point where OTA can take over, and not do them all. Otherwise Ford will be paying out a lot in warranty claims in hours of updating where OTA can complete them,. The techs don't know what level activates BC, they just follow Ford procedure.

Yes, you are right. The techs only run the procedures and can't really deviate from those instructions. The only thing we really have in the 21G01 program is that per the document, they are supposed to test drive the vehicle to verify BC functionality, and are paid an additional 0.5 hours by Ford to do so. So they might not know the details of what modules do what, but after applying this 21G01 process, BC should be working. In my case, the tech just flat out lied and drove it nowhere then said he did and it all worked great. The tech must have forgotten that the mileage is logged when arriving and departing into their service lane, and only showed 0.4 miles had been added to the truck. It is back there now with hopefully better luck in tracking down the issues and getting things resolved.

Well, here is the text message I got from the Asst Service Manager today:

I just got off the phone with the (Ford) engineer this afternoon. And he is recommending we connect directly to the in line connector from the APIM to the USB. I had to order specific connectors that will be in tomorrow some time. So we will have to try that once the technician is back from training and the correct cables come in for the module programming. His thought is that the software is corrupted and that is the reason to directly input into the module

Guess we shall see.

This is the first time I have ever seen any activity with this IR light. I assume for those who have BC working you see the same thing...? Per livnitup the only modules that were updated during my failed 21G01 process was one for the Gateway and the one for the trailer brake controller, so I guess this light must be controlled by one of those...? Seems kinda strange to me.

I’m confused by this; the infrared lights in mine have never been visible, even when bluecruise is operating, as you can see here. It detects gaze, too, and complains if I look away from the road too long, as it is supposed to.

Default Finally got BlueCruise active today!!

So, I have a Job 1 truck, and today, after 7 business days (9 full days!) at the dealer, I have have BlueCruise!! To be fair, the shop took me in with no appointment promising only to get me in as soon as possible. Well, on the fifth day (this past Friday) in the shop they were able to "start" working on my vehicle. The service writer admitted to me he thought they would be able to finish it in a couple of hours on Friday afternoon. He also told me that they had not done ANY of these software upgrades and that, truth be known, they had hardly seen any vehicles at their dealership that are even equipped for the BlueCruise feature. So, I was their guinea pig and, had I known that, after reading some of the nightmares on this thread, I probably would have waited for 2 or 3 months and then try for the update hoping that the techs would be more familiar by then. But, I have to say, these guys were determined, ultra polite, and promised that they would not fail to get me the updates, that they would let me test drive the vehicle with one of their techs (turned out to be the shop foreman) to insure everything was working correctly, as well as taking care of the 2 active recalls. So, hats off to them for their effort.

I went from Sync 4 version 21146, Revision 145 to Version 22028, Revision 358. I don't if I have other updates pending or if this is the most current. Maybe someone else here might know? I hate to keep bothering people, i.e. @Livinitup :-), but my VIN is 1FTFW1ED3MFB51153.

I also notice that I now have the updated OTA update schedule options for more than one day. And, somehow, and I'm not sure how, at one point while in forward motion at about 25 mph, I got the rearward facing camera to display fullscreen on the display and then, just as quickly, it disappeared. Not sure what happened there but I guess I need to experiment a little.

Just wanted to add that on my receipt the following was included: "PERFORMED ALL REPROGRAMMING TO MODULES PER FSA 21G01. TCU FAILED FLASH DRIVE PROGRAMMING AND WENT THROUGH IDS FOR 4-5 HOURS.
I'm not sure what this means but maybe someone can explain.

So long story re my dealer, but for now I just have a short question. Dealer did a test drive Monday said all was working "per ford spec" not that BC was active and he could not test BC as there were no active BC zones close by ( nothing at all in Phoenix), but it appears to me that the dealership sits one block from a BC hwy, based on the connected navigation map highlighting said highway in a LIGHT BLUE color. So do Blue cruise zones show up as LIGHT BLUE?
