Software Updates
As my post (6 above says, I got update 23-PU1024-6CH-AUD a couple days ago. This update is horrible, I lost about 50% of my volume, and the sound is horrible now. Before the update I would set the volume between 4 and 6 around town driving, now after the update I have to put the volume between 8 and 12. Now for the sound quality, before the update I would say it was decent, now it sound like an old AM/FM radio. Yes, I've checked and tried changing all the setting, nothing helped.
Has anyone else received this update, if so what was your experience?

I think theres a clue in the update number, specifically the "6CH-AUD". It's like they pushed the stock 6 channel audio DSP preset to trucks with upgraded B&O systems.
I just got this update in my 2021 XLT with the 8 speaker B&O system. I'm an audio guy by trade and noticed something wasn't right as soon as I turned on the radio. The sound quality went from decent to very poor, with no low end and reduced overall volume. The speaker time alignment now seems off as well.

@rugedraw So, thanks for all the help and I hope you enjoyed your cruise. I still have not received a single update for over a year and a half. Ford Motor Co Customer Service Sync Support says there is definitely something wrong with the vehicle.
I am on trip number 3 to the dealership as they seemed convinced that nothing was wrong. I finally put them in touch with Customer Service and they have finally acknowledged that my truck is not behaving appropriately but admit they are stumped as to how to fix it.
Just wanted to keep you in the loop. They say they are going to individually check the modules to update, whatever that means.

You may be on to something there! Now lets see how long it takes Ford to figure it out and sent out a fix. I got a survey from Ford right after the update installed asking how it went, I gave it a "very dissatisfied" and explained why. On the gen14 forum there are some complaints there as well.
I updated the front audio control module and the digital sound processing module together and it made a drastic change to my audio. It sounds 10,000 times better now than it did before. Has more and retains better in the upper volumes as well as more bass across the board. Before I had the trouble mid and bass nearly maxed out, and I had to turn most of them down three or four clicks.

Your truck is on the latest Sync version it is supposed to be on based on your year and trim level, but you have modules pending updates that can be updated by the OTA process and you have never been sent any. I don't think there is anything wrong with your truck, but I don't know why you have not gotten any love from the mothership in terms of updates. Your truck is communicating with the cloud just fine.
EDIT: Rhetorical question on that last one. FoMoCo says they want to speak with me as they feel like something is not right that they havent pushed an OTA to me in that long.

Nope, I haven't rec'd an update since delivery 9/10/21. 3 APIMs later still nothing. I drove 200 miles to another dealer in Anchorage AK Tuesday to see if they can do something. Rugedraw has already told me my system is F*ucked and that the only way to maybe fix it is FRDS and forscan the APIM, GWM and maybe the TCU. I feel your pain. 2021 Lariat 501a

I had the opposite experience with my 18 speaker B&O software updates. There are two of them and I did both through FDRS and maybe that’s the difference if you’re only doing one update and waiting for the other.

I hope Ford sends something soon to fix it.
