Your truck is a 2020 on Sync 3 which is not a connected vehicle. I am not able to see what updates are pending with PTS. I can check in FDRS later when I get home if I remember, but in your case, you can install any Sync updates you are missing with a USB. You can check and download the files directly from the Ford website.

Hopefully, I'm doing this right and not messing anything up.
New guy here, however I've been reading this forum since I bought my 2021 f150 Platinum PowerBoost in January of 2021. By reading this forum I've learned a lot from everyone on here which I'm sure has saved me a lot of headaches. Thanks
Anyway, I'm not sure if I have an issue or not but I'm leaning towards I do, but I don't have the knowledge or expertise to try and figure it out so I thought maybe some of you could offer your advice.
I've been receiving ota's on a regular basis since around April of 2021 with only the occasional failure which was usually the weak battery because I don't drive a lot. The last one I got was on March 15, 2024. It was (Priority Update 23-PU0630-YAW-RT). Nothing since except the Phantom ota that goes away when you turn the truck off. I have received the Phantom ota the last 7 to 8 times in a row when the ota notification icon shows up. I normally get that every couple of weeks or so. Nothing in between. My Sync 4 is up to date with the Version being 23291 Revision: 1049. Thanks in advance for any assistance or thoughts if I have an issue or not.

Well, happened again (08/08/24). Phantom ota. I think thats like 9 in a row.
The last thing I almost forgot. On my About Sync Screen it use to show
Sync Mac Addresses:
Software Updates : Don't remember the address
VehicleHot Spot: f8:55:cd:64:b1:7d
Bluetooth:28:38:5c:02:e9:67
It's no longer showing the Software Updates info under Sync Mac Addresses. It is showing the other two.
@rugedraw will be able to provide more details (I can no longer see OTA statuses in my PTS account), but I can see you have an open recall (23S65 - Certain 2021-2023 Model Year F-150 Vehicles Equipped with 9.75” HD Axle – ¾ Float Axle - Rear Axle Half-Shaft and Hub Assembly Replacement – Interim Repair) and a lot of pending module updates, see pic.
I was in your same boat. And then took the plunge, got the Mongoose, and the 2-day FDRS license was because I was sick and tired of the 12th (or so) phantom update notification (mine was for one of the powertrain updates). Haven't gotten a phantom notice since plus I get to fiddle with the Forscan mods.
Your table appears to show @gdp313's IPMA was updated in May, so it's not a horribly behind as many trucks are. (That's not an argument against catching up with FDRS and a Mongoose cable.)

Well...this answers that...my 21PB has been having the same phantom bell pop up for a year. Even after a number of dealership visits....
Dropping cash on a mongoose seems like the "fix", even though those phantom bells are causing an overall drain on my battery per the bms sensor.....keeps dropping low enough to start hitting limp mode.
My minder install seemed stupid in 21 but has saved my sanity ever since. I just wish I could find a way to cleanly mod the quarter panel vent to hold the socket for the minder, akin to how the Lightning has its cable port. Be a nifty block heater mod too.

Using the mongoose and getting up-to-date won't necessarily solve the phantom update notification problem. My 22 PB is 100% updated via FDRS and I still get the phantom update notifications...

Your truck is on Sync 23291 which is the latest version available, OTA history is blank meaning no updates have been sent to you in the past 60 days. That is indeed a phantom update notification and you can ignore it. There is no sure-fire way to make it go away.
