I think theres a clue in the update number, specifically the "6CH-AUD". It's like they pushed the stock 6 channel audio DSP preset to trucks with upgraded B&O systems.
Wish I had seen your post sooner, I wouldn't have let this update through on my truck. Too late now, it went through yesterday.

Default Loss of volume

I have the same issues after the update. About 50% volume.

Why would they push an update to reduce the volume? The volume level was bad to start with. This is really pissing me off. Do we have any options??

I hope they don’t send it to me because my **** sounds great. I wonder if it’s because I did both of the updates and I used FDRS to update everything.

I just know after those two updates my 18 speaker system was very much improved

To anyone that does not want the audio update: Set your auto-updates to off and this update will not install. Keep in mind, if you do this, you may miss out on other updates, too.

There is a way to go back to the older software, but you would need FORScan and above-average knowledge of how to use it.

out of curiosity, can you check my Vin number to see if I have another audio update available?
I just use FDRS about three weeks ago to update everything in my truck. I’ll updated the front audio control module and the digital audio processing module and it made my speaker system sound 1000 times better. I have more volume and so I don’t know if this is a new update. I need to avoid or if there’s some other issue of why everyone else is having these audio problems with an update.

Do you have the 18 speaker B&O Unleashed option? Have you noticed any degradation of your sound system since the update was installed?

It seems like I always get my OTA updates a few days after you. I have the B&O Unleashed option and wondering if I should shut off auto updates.

PTS is only showing an HVAC module update pending at this time.

Can I get a recheck? I did the update using a 2 day license, and want to make sure the truck should be back on track to self update!

BTW you do NOT have to use a mongoose, I found a $150 option that works!

Used one of these for my updates.

ok.
and that Has to be fairly new because like I said a few weeks ago, I updated everything with FDRS. That update has to be for the new HVAC module I installed when I added the heated steering wheel back. I used FDR to program the new HVAC module after I copied as built in forscan get rid of the soft code for module, not programmed. I guess I’ll get that new update soon enough.

I wonder if the ones that are having issues is something to do with it being over the air or it only updating one of those two modules for audio?
Like if you only get one of the two, it makes it sound like crap but if you get both of them together, it makes it sound great….
strange.

I just have the standard B&O, not the unleashed. I actually haven't gone anywhere since the update so I can't say whether my sound was degraded by it.
