@rugedraw hopefully I get the good news tomorrow that they updated everything. Is there any place I can check periodically to see if there are any new sync updates (apart from this forum).

Default driver monitor camera fault

Hi,

Wondering if anyone has any insight into what is happening with my truck? I received 6.8.0 on Jan 10th and things seemed to be working okay. I went away for a week and my truck was parked at home, and upon my return and trying to use bluecruise, it is disabled.

I get a message "bluecruise not available" followed by "driver monitor camera fault" when I enable lane keeping along with cruise control whether I am on a bluecruise compatible road or not. I checked for obstructions on the two sensors facing the driver (door and dash) as well as the camera and nothing is dirty or blocking them. I have a mongoose and can dive into FDRS but would prefer to see what the knowledgable crowd says before hand.

I ran a DTC check in Forscan and got the following three DTCs:
===CMR DTC U2018:51-8F===
Code: U2018 - Control Module Software #3

Additional Fault Symptom (:51):
- Not Programmed

Status (-8F):
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is On for this DTC

Module: Camera Module Rear

===END CMR DTC U2018:51-8F===

===DSM DTC U0422:00-08===
Code: U0422 - Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module

Status (-08):
- Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Driver's Seat Module

===END DSM DTC U0422:00-08===

===IPMA DTC U0565:86-2F===
Code: U0565 - Invalid Data Received From Camera Module-Rear

Additional Fault Symptom (:86):
- Signal Invalid

Status (-2F):
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Image Processing Module A

===END IPMA DTC U0565:86-2F===
I have some forscan changes, but I hadn't made any since last year and bluecruise was working prior to the update (however, I don't recall using it before my trip).

I tried clearing the DTC and going for a drive, but didn't seem to make a difference.

Coincidental failure?

VIN: 1FTFW1E58NFB95398

Thank you!!

Only people with access to Ford's PTS website or FDRS software can check vehicle history so what it being done or not done to a vehicle.

Weird. PTS shows that IPC update went through with no issues. That update add the animations for BC 1.4 whenever it becomes available, but it should not cause an issue with BC working. However, the control module software DTC was not being recorded by your truck prior to the update. I'm going to have someone else take a look at your truck to see if they see anything that got misconfigured after the update.

Correction: The control module software error stating being recorded after the TCU OTA you got in December. Stand by to see what i can find out.

Edit: Before i check with my guy, under connected services in your Fordpass app, what expiration date does it show for BC?

Check the settings in the Sync system. Mine did the same thing after getting 6.8.0. When I checked the settings in the Sync system my hands free was turned off, after turning it back on everything worked great.

Was hoping it would be that easy.. Under the cruise control menu I tried turning lane centering with hands free on and off and it doesn't give me the error when the hands free is disabled (as expected). When I turn it back on, the error persists.

Thanks!

My 2021 job 1 truck was hung up for a while early last year, but finally burst the log jam. Last update I’m aware of, however, came through 7/21/23, 4.2.1. I’ve been aware its no doubt coughing up a hairball on one of the problematic updates since, but hadn’t been too motivated since I figured I wasn’t missing much. But with blue cruise updates coming that will change.

I haven’t been following all the posts on this thread recently; any suggestions for getting the truck off its butt beyond waiting? I don’t have access to a P.C. laptop so not really able to update it myself.

can someone please check my truck’s status?

VIN 1FTFW1ED4MFB77471

thanks!

Time to fire up FDRS. That control module software DTC is the issue. You are showing a pending CMR update that will fix the issue. While you're at it, to the IPMA and PSCM updates you see there. They will GREATLY improve the performance of Bluecruise (The update contains the updates for BC 1.4, but they are disabled. However, you will gain the stability improvements and better lane centering that comes with BC 1.4 with this IPMA update). With that IPMA update, you will also be enable to turn signal cameras while towing.
