You would think that after 3 years of dealing with this sh*t, they would have gotten better at this by now.

I have 2021 Lariat I bought used recently (former police fleet) and it is missing some of the newer features. I took it to the dealer requesting Job1 and they “reset” the Sync but nothing has changed (No at speed camera, bluetooth etc) and it even goes completely black sometimes when using the phone.

Can you tell if this is up to date and what I should do in order to get the latest and greatest update? It’s connected to wifi, auto updates etc I’ve read in this thread, but it hasn't updated once.

Thanks for all the help you provide everyone.

Sync 23159 is two version behind the latest available which is Sync 24147. There is nothing you can do to speed up the OTA process. Your truck may be one of many vehicles affected by an issue where an update needed for them to progress along is not released for them on the server side. If your truck is one of these, you would not be able to fully update it even if you had FDRS.

Well my truck is now officially 1 Sync 4 version behind. My truck is on Sync 4 ver 23291/Rev 1079.

So does this mean the dealer would not be able to update either?

FDRS is the exact same system you would use yourself if you had a Mongoose Plus and subscription to FDRS. So the answer to your question is 'yes'.

They can't even if they wanted to. That is, IF your truck is affected by the issue. The only way to overcome this was with the help of a member on the F150gen14 forum, but Ford closed the loophole we were using to fix this, so nothing can be done but wait for Ford to release the next update needed in the sequence.

Thank you so much. I was ready to get the mongoose and all that so you saved me a ton of time and money. Really appreciate your help.

PM me your VIN. I can check to see if the update you need to fully update is there or not.

@Swizzle Pending updates are below. No GWM, APIM or TCU updates pending. You do have an IPC update pending that once done, it MIGHT release the GWM update you need to fully update, but there no way I can guarantee that will happen. If you had a GWM showing, I would say full green light to Mongoose now. You would still be able to update all the ones with a green dot, but you may not be able to update your Sync.
