Software Updates
I just got 4.2.1 after running another short errand. I guess I will get the phone charge cable set up and start plugging my phone in going forward to avoid the reported Bluetooth issues with the 4.2.X firmware.
When I was driving 5 minutes to home after getting 4.2.1 this morning I was noticing my Google Maps and Apple Maps were not showing any data through Apple Car Play. Some more playing at home in the garage shows my iPhone can't connect to the internet when connected to the truck (either bluetooth or wire). I have good wifi and cell reception in my garage. As soon as it connects to my truck, the wifi connection goes down, and the phone does not connect on the cell. Anyone else seen this?

Well now you're not going to believe this. I was on the lake and got notified that they installed 4.2.4. So I'm assuming they skipped right over 4.2.2 and 4.2.3. Any way to check? BTW, I'm still having the same issue and cannot view carplay or navigation. I was hoping a new install would reset everything and be good but I guess not.
Well the dealer was able to get me fixed up. I turned off automatic updates in the meantime. I am unable to view my tailgate camera while at driving speeds so I guess I missed that update. Question, if I order a mongoose, will I be able to install the update to get the rearview camera view while driving? I'm thinking it may be time to invest in this tool. Thanks for everyone's help.
In the meantime, read the first post of this thread:

Don't let it intimidate you......it is very easy to do. I would open an account there if you don't have one and follow the OTA section of that forum. You will learn a lot.
I got it sent two days ago and it failed to download the files and the OTA trigger failed the same day. I am still waiting for them to resend it. No rush on my side, as all the 4.x.x are just to prep the truck for future updates. Once whatever update that really gives us something new comes out, I will just install them myself if I still don't have the OTA's. Having a Mongoose is very liberating. lol
