Could someone check PTS and FDRS for available updates for my truck? Thinking of pulling the trigger on a 2 day license for the weekend if there are updates.

Thanks!

As far as OTA's go, you have gotten the 4.2.x updates and you are on the latest Sync version. I do not have an active FDRS license to check what modules have pending updates. You are probably better off asking in the thread below as not many people with FDRS follow this thread that I know of.

The IPC is the "instrument panel cluster". There are three more OTA's that have come out only for high-end 2021 F150's. These updates prep your truck for future updates, so you aren't missing out on anything by not having them yet. There are rolling out very slowly. I have not gotten them for my truck, either.

Just got the vehicle back from the dealer after being in purgatory since owning the vehicle (2021).

They ended up replacing the APIM. I picked up the vehicle and can see that toggle to enable automatic updates now works. However, I'm not sure if I'm on the latest version. When I go to check for updates, it says "up to date", but I seem to be lacking some of the Carplay/other features that users have had for months.

Tried to check on the Ford website with my VIN to see what Sync version I am on, it seems they have removed that functionality?

Any chance you can let me know @rugedraw? Appreciate it.

You are no where near up to date. Sync 22146 is software from May of 2022. They did you out of OTA limbo and you will be able to get OTA's whenever Ford pushes them out to you. They won't get you passed the point where it was stuck because Ford does not pay them for module updates and you have easily 12 hours + worth of updates to do on your truck. Now that the dealer did the hard part, I recommend getting a Mongoose and updating the truck yourself.

Getting 3.5.3 finely on Monday undid the logjam for my truck. I just got 3.5.4 while running local errands. It looks like 4.2.1 would be next up for me.

After the ECM Recovery recall (22B08 program) got done mid last year, the two big troublesome updates were 2.8.1 and 3.5.3. One I got past those, the next batch of smaller updates roll in regularly. Rugedraw, which is the next troublesome load?

3.5.4 tends to come in shortly after 3.5.3 with high success, and your truck followed that trend.

Out of the 4.x.x updates, 4.2.2 is the only one I have seen that sometimes takes a few tries to go through. However, unlike 2.8.1 and 3.5.3, this update does not give you anything new. All the 4.x.x updates are to prep our trucks for future updates, so until something new and shiny comes out, there is no need to be in a rush to get any of them. As a matter of fact, many people have reported bluetooth connectivity issues once these updates start coming in. I have been using a wired phone connection to my truck since these updates started rolling out to avoid the glitches.

So that leads me to question if I should disable future updates for now until as you said "something new and shiny comes out". I am happy how things are working currently, but wonder about 3.5.4 which introduces the dual phone support might be a trigger of the issues you are referring too. I have not tried it out yet. My wife and I have not both been in the truck since this update (earlier today) to try out this feature. Wonder if that might be related to the Bluetooth connectivity issue.

No, the reported issues are with the 4.x.x updates. 3.5.4 is fine. Either way, turning off auto updates does nothing. That's only for updates that require the truck to be inhibited while it installs. The only way to prevent them from installing is by unplugging the TCU completely so they never download.
