Software Updates
Would someone be willing to check my VIN 1FTEW1EP1MKE27312? I just bought a 2021. The automatic updates option is greyed out for me. I don't have full screen carplay available and don't have apply maps turn by turn in the instrument cluster but the truck says it is up to date and there are no updates available...
Thank you!
Thank you!
I highly recommend getting a Mongoose tool and doing it yourself. See the post above yours for details.

Everything you need to know is here in the first post. It looks a lot more intimidating than it is. FDRS literally walks you through every step of the process as you're doing it. That same thread is closely followed by myself and many helpful and extremely knowledgeable people that provide help in almost real time if you post a question there about the updating process.

Watch minutes 5-11 in the video above. It shows how to perform an APIM update. If you are on these older Sync versions like 22146 and 22177, it will take you 15 hours+ to update your truck. It is more time consuming than it is difficult. There is nothing technically difficult about the process.
Yes, that is an IPC update that was released shortly after 4.2.4, but has been rolling out much slower than the other 4.x.x updates.

I just noticed that I received a few OTA updates the past few days on my 2021 Lariat PB . The latest shows 3.5.4 that just happened today. I did notice a new 75th anniversary splash screen and now I can use Car Play on full screen. My last update prior to this was June of last year. Does that seem like a normal update schedule?

Since you got 4.2.1, you've had 4.2.2 sent to you and fail 5 times. Also, since you got 4.2.1, your truck is recording a DTC that it never recorded before:
IPC U0554 Invalid Data Received From Accessory Protocol Interface Module
I am not sure what is going on with your truck, tbh.

I received the 4.2.2 update, and ever since then, I am no longer able to view my rear view camera by pushing the camera button on the dash while sitting idle. The only way I can view the camera is by shifting into reverse. I know the button works because if I am at speed and push the button, I get the message about some functions being disabled while driving.
