I was delivered 4.3.2 today. Details just say that it will make future updates easier.

My F150 2021 Job 1 has been at the dealership for almost a month. They changed the APIM and are trying to make it take updates. So far they have been unsuccessful, despite multiple consults with Ford engineers. It appears they have given up and may give me my truck back as-is, with the option to bring it back if they come up with a new idea. I'm not real enthused about that, but I'd like my truck back.

Rugedraw, can you run my VIN again and see if there is anything there I need to know?

I suspect much of the post trip chatter with Ford is to update Ford pass on usage, update things like Oil lIfe monitor etc.

No updates on my recent 600 plus mile drive. So I'm guessing for now I'm up to date.

I do anticipate an update to correct the disconnect between the mykey display in the instruments and the head unit. These two used to mimic each other, But now the headunit is out of sync with instruments. Its a little odd right now.

I received 1 update, 2.1.1 in April after APIM was changed and non since. This was after much fighting with the dealership. The fact that you can diy it with a mongoose cable and Ford can’t seem to figure out a fix is quite disturbing. The “they don’t want to spend the time” theory makes no sense since they would spend less time updating it than consulting for a month.

Default 4.3.3 today: trailer and tailgate settings

I wish they were a little more descriptive. What exactly changed with my trailer and tailgate settings?

Also, there seem to be some random settings that get reset (instrument console brightness, gauge choice) upon an update. Wish they could save/restore those.

The need to reattempt the PMI and get that to go through successfully. The only tried to PMI the new APIM once on 6/6 and the process failed. If they do not perform a successful PMI on the APIM, it will not properly configure with the truck and they will never be able to update no matter how many times they try, and they have tried many times.

Well, the dealership will only work on it if they get paid for it, either by Ford under warranty or at an hourly rate from the customer. I know some of these updates took upwards of 8-10 hours to complete and tied up a bay during that time. It seems Ford does not consider updates not applying to be a warranty-able thing so the dealership looks at the concern, then parks the truck while Ford engineering dabbles around doing whatever it is they do.

I totally agree with your statement about it being crazy that Ford can't figure this out, but based on some of the really knowledgeable guys on here familiar with the Ford development and support processes, it doesn't really surprise me that there are issues. Ford seems like they are just not ready to be a SW company...

Just got notification that OTA 4.3.3 will be installed tonight.
“Improvement to trailer and tailgate settings.” Anyone know what these improvements entail?

It only updates the strategy on the IPC. You will not see anything different. It is just to prep your truck for future updates. You should be getting 4.3.5 in the next few days. It also does nothing but prep the truck for future updates.

See if your service advisor can go to your truck, go to the touchscreen settings and send you a picture of the "about sync" screen.
