Not a single OTA released for the gen14 F150's require wifi to be downloaded. People smarter than me have said that even if you are on wifi, OTA download via the trucks cellular plan. I cannot confirm that myself, but I can tell you for sure that wifi is not needed to get an update.
Glad to hear! If you have Alexa, you are updated past bluecruise and have full-screen carplay/android auto, cameras in motion, etc.
You got lucky. They got your truck updated and didn't even know what they were doing. Yes, it is true Ford has a hold on the bluecruise programming. However, they obviously did not know that fully updating the truck would give you bluecruise programming by default. Lucky you.
@rugedraw Yes, what I was attempting to say was that even though I had WiFi setup, the 3.5.x updates never came via that route. I don't drive my truck a lot but it is always on WiFi. These 3.5.x updates only came via the cellular route. There were a number of others that chimed in and seemed to have had the same experience. In contract, the 4.2.x are coming via WiFi.
It may all be a total coincidence, but seemed to align with other's experience.

Joe .....
My truck got 4.2.1-4.2.4 all without wifi being connected. I think Fordshould allow OTAs to come in via wifi. Not everyone lives in an area with good cellular service.
Received 4.2.4 yesterday. Now my instrument panel view resets each time I shut the truck off and I’ve lost auto-up on the front passenger window. Didn’t have either of these problems before the latest update.
I got notice this morning that 3.5.3 is set to be installed. Drove home this aft. Nothing yet, in fact the notice it’s set to be installed is no longer present. No idea.

I could not where you posted your VIN like I did yesterday. Repost your VIN and I'll check the status when I get back to the office tomorrow.
Rugedraw reported that my truck is in que to receive 3.5.3. I drove 150 miles today. After about an hour I checked the Ford app and it still showed me at home on the map (showing me where I was, the truck still parked at home). I did a refresh, and that updated showing the truck at my location. I have seen this before on several occasions.
No indication of doing any S/W updates.

It is stuck downloading a file. Not a good sign with this update.

I'm sure your problem is the same as above. I don't know what the problem is with this update getting hung up downloading the final file(s) it needs. From what I have seen, once it gets to the point that PTS is showing multiple attempts trying to download a file with no success, it leads to the update timing out and failing.
I swear it took months to get out of the 3.x.x series of updates and into the 4.x.x Probably 6 months. So don't panic. Some updates happen while you are driving, Others require the truck to be shut off yet needs sufficient power to download and update.
Like you Indy. I was stuck on 3.5.3 download for 6 months months waiting for Ford to re-issue the download. In my case, I had battery issues where the process determined I had a low battery and stopped the process. Here's what I did:
I replaced the OEM battery with a Duramax Platinum H7 AGM to make sure this was not the cause.
Reset The BMS to reflect the updated battery condition
Put the battery on nightly 10A battery maintainer (Noco Genius) to make sure I maintained a fully charged battery
I waited
I missed my initial window to download and it took Ford 6 months to send it out again. Finally I'm almost caught up as I'm now on 4.2.3
