Software Updates
Legitimate question and you are not the only person who has had that thought. I think if you go into Settings->Connectivity you can turn off connectivity so the vehicle cant get the OTA updates.
I knew it was too good to be true. 4.2.2 failed to install on its first attempt. Boo.
Did capture, again, the things that helped the next step move along in the process. Once I saw the "Trigger created" status for the update I opened up FordPass and forced a refresh. That kicked off the next step of "OTA Trigger Available". After that I went out to the truck, put it in ACC/ON (didn't actually start it) for ~3 minutes (been meaning to adjust some radio presets anyways). By time I came back in it was already downloading the files. And, wow, didn't realize how large many of the files were for 4.2.2.
But after all that excitement, guess I get to wait a little bit longer.

Also received 4.2.4 today. Agree they have been coming fast lately. Our MME has received several this year already, my dad bought a Bronco a month ago and already received two. A friend of mine with a sweet F-350 Tremor received a handful all of a sudden after nearly a year of nothing.
I feel for those that are still not seeing movement, but I hope it's a sign that going forward things will only get better on that front. It's still exciting whenever something rolls in, even if the only one that has had an actual ownership impact (besides when BlueCruise finally activated) was when I got the full screen CarPlay.

I actually have 4.2.4 sitting in my queue for the past two hours waiting for me to go start it up.
