Software Updates
I have a 2021 XLT 302A, and I have yet to receive a SINGLE update since I bought the truck. My truck tried to download an update a year and a half ago, and it ended up "bricking" the APIM. I was FINALLY able to get the APIM replaced in January of this year, due to having to wait for the APIM module to ship to my dealer. They swapped it out and said they have updated my truck to the latest firmware versions. Since then, I have still not received any updates. I just took it back this week, to have the technician connect my truck up to FDRS and check the APIM and other modules, hoping there was an update for those, that was hindering the update process for everything else. I am really wanting the Power-Up Update for Apple Carplay, that allows me to maximize the Carplay screen so it takes up the whole 12" screen.
I have tried multiple ways to "force" updates... with no change. I have never seen any notifications on my screen for updates, notifications of an update being completed... nothing! I have tried the SYNC4 feedback "Updates are not working" reporting method from the truck. I have tried changing my scheduled updates timing. and even turning off the Wi-Fi, to force the cellular network connections. I do live out of the city limits, and do not have full bars of signal, but I do have probably 3 (out of 5) bars of service on my phone / truck. I am really beginning to get frustrated with this whole OTA system! I have called Ford's OTA division, and they said there were updates available (Ford Connected Nav Map Update and a SYNC4 update), and I saw the same on my FordPass profile. But, when I went back into my FordPass account, those updates are no longer showing up either, and says everything is "Up To Date". Does anyone have any ideas of something else to try?
Much appreciated!

Edit: Calling Ford's OTA hotline is also a waste of time. They can't do anything to help you, either.
@rugedraw Could you check my Mid year build 2021, SN#1FTFW1E54MKD95832
I had 3.5.2 update last October, but nothing since.

LOL, I just underwent spinal fusion 2 weeks ago and am not allowed to drive for 4-6 weeks.
If I go in and start it, should it show me that it is ready to deploy or do I have to do anything?
Yes, go in and start it and let it run for 10 minutes. Hopefully this time it will download the files it needs to successfully go through. Starting it will trigger in the download/install process to start.
[QUOTE=rugedraw;7420972]It is stuck downloading a file. Not a good sign with this update.
Thanks. I’m at 87% SOC but I will put the NOCO 10 on it just to ensure it’s always in good shape. Did notice the first night when the trigger was sent SOC dropped from 90 to 83 overnight so it was doing something because that’s normally not the case. I reset the radio when I got home today. Funny, when you turn off auto update I get notice that 3.5.3 is pending. If I leave it turned on there is no notice. 3.5.3 doesn’t need the vehicle to be disabled as I recall so I will auto update off for a night and see what happens. Any sense of which of the files is hanging? Like is there one in particular that is common for problematic download?

I have never seen 3.5.3 fail due to low SOC; it is always because it fails to download one of the last files it need for the update. I have never looked to see if it is the same file, but I am inclined to say that it is the same file. It always downloads a bunch of them and then just hangs trying over and over for 2 weeks to update one file until the OTA trigger times out 2 weeks later.
