Software Updates
I see you got 2.73 and 2.7.4 this month. You are behind because Ford's OTA process and garbage are synonymous with each other. The next update they will eventually send you is 2.8.1 which requires the vehicle be inhibited for over an hour while it installs. If you don't already have one, get yourself a 10amp battery charger as you will need to have it hooked up to the truck for it to install. Even like that, many people have reported that update failing to install many times before it goes through.
Is 2.8.1 where I'll finally get BlueCruise? I appreciate you looking into that for me!
My VIN is 1FTFW1ED8MFB60477.

I fixed the Wiki to prevent confusion. 4.1.1 is only for the Lightning. It allows you to use the phone as a key like Teslas. Our trucks do not have the capability for that, so that update will never be sent to us. The Wiki is a useful tool, but it is easy to misinterpret.
I would recommend a 10amp minimum. Even with a 10amp charger people have reported the update failing numerous times and when I check the reason why in PTS, it says it failed due to low battery voltage.

Edit: When you get the update, you will physically have to go into your touch screen and start it manually. Having auto-updates on will not initiate this update. Any update that requires the vehicle to be inhibited have to be manually initiated.
Understood and see what you're talking about 4.1.1. I can care less about my cell phone being a key. I just want updated software that I was promised (BlueCruise). Since Ford hasn't shown me any love, do I just wait or do you think contacting them will push it through faster? Any insight as to how they decide on who to give updates to? Who does my wife have to bang to make this happen? LOL

Coincidently I just got off the phone with Ford Customer Service, and in the end, he instructed me to take it into the dealer. They washed their hands with me. I am a very technical guy and would not have any problem updating the firmware myself but I could not find any way or instructions on how to do that. I guess my next step is to bring it in to get the software that makes the hardware I ALREADY BOUGHT work. Crazy and unnecessary situation here if you ask me... which you didn't.
Anyway, thank you for your help and I'll post an update after the dealer screws my wife... I mean me. :P

The Mongoose OBDII tool costs $539 on Amazon, and a two day FDRS license with Ford will cost you another $50. It took me 13 hours to update mine when I did it. When Android Auto gets the full-screen capability update, I am going to spend another $50 to get another 2 day FDRS license and update the truck to the latest goodies. No sense in doing it now since I can't take advantage of the full-screen capability yet. I am hoping Ford starts pushing out that update again before it gets to the point that I have to do it myself.

If letting it sit for an extended period with the battery disconnected doesn't work, hook up a battery charger and let it charge for an extended time (~1 hr or more) and see if that works. Could be a low battery level (perceived or actual) preventing it from updating correctly.
