You had one of the two small patches that 2021 owners get sent to them before 3.5.2 install successfully, but the other one failed twice. Once on 9/26 and the other on 10/3. The first time it failed due to a download issue. The second time the error code reads "software mismatch". Nothing you can do other than to wait for it to be sent to you again,

Nobody is getting anything past 3.5.2. Ford stopped pushing out that update almost immediately after they started sending it out. No one knows why. The only way to force the remaining updates to get full screen AA/CarPlay is with an OBDII tool and an FDRS license.

 

You need access to Ford's Professional Technician System (PTS) to check OTA status, and you need FDRS to see what particular modules need updates and/or to update said modules.

 

Ok thanks. Does it seem odd for it to be such a long time since the last attempt, or is that something you see from time to time?

 

So on the website it lists a FDRS 2 day 150 dollar or a (FJDS) for 50. Does the (FJDS) update sync?

 

Could someone please check my vin 1FTFW1ED5MFC06184? Last update I saw was the end of October, the two small updates to prepare for additional updates. The last numbered update was 2.7.3 as I remember around the end of June. The check mark from the last small update 31 October is still on my SYNC screen. I wonder if that is a problem. Back when I got the 1.7.1 OTA problem fixed, it got 5 or 6 updates over the next couple weeks. The checkmark would disappear automatically after three days. Shortly after it went off the screen the next OTA would DL. It never loaded an OTA as long as the checkmark was still showing. Anyone have any insight on this?

 

It’s the $500 cable that is the expensive part.

 

@rugedraw , can you look up VIN 1FTFW1E8XNKE73090 to see if there is a Sync update for the AA full screen Map option?
And if so, how do I get that new update?

I have updates set to auto update and i am on WIFI

Not odd at all. There is no rhyme or reason as to how Ford pushes these things out. Their OTA process is a steaming pile of hot garbage.

I can only see 60 days into your OTA history, so all I see are the two small updates. I got 3.5.2 two months ago and I still have the check mark on the top of the screen, too.

 

Thanks Rugedraw. Interesting you still have the checkmark too. I kept a close eye on it back when I was getting the OTA's after the repair. I could go for a drive and get the next DL within an hour of the checkmark going away.

 

Can someone check my VIN 1FTFW1ED2MFB28544 to see why I'm so far behind in the versions of updates? I just received 2.7.4 on 12/15 seems as though I'm 6 mo+ behind everyone else....
