I don’t remember which version got me cameras at speed.
2.8.1 is an IPMA update. It updates the software and changes the default as built data in the IPMA depending on which cameras are factory-installed.
After 2.8.1. is installed. Cameras at Speed can be enabled simply by changing values in the APIM with ForScan. For owners without the 360° camera system only one change is required in 7D0-01-04 to allow the feature.

Are you @Airborne_Ape saying it’s just a labeling issue and it’s OK to install the 2.1.0 “update “?
Possibly.
If you have access to PTS or want to share your VIN we can dive into the package update contents. But it appears there may be 2.1.0v1 and 2.1.0v2 and they are both called 2.1.0 and released months apart.
The same thing applies to 2.8.1 and probably other OTA releases.
Almost as if they want to confuse us.
OTA updates target select modules so going from OTA 2.8.3 to 2.1.0 does not necessarily indicate a downgrade depending on what it is doing.

I had a look. Sure enough it appears to be an OTA downgrade. I have no better explanation. I see your dealership tried and failed to update the GWM but that happened back in April. I edited out your VIN but will post this for others to have a look. Somebody more qualified should ask @Ford Motor Co. why owners are getting OTA Downgrades though because you aren't the first to confirm this problem.
I could justify it if any file in the package was a newer version, because usually there are checks in place to prevent older files from being installed, but here we can see all the available files are older than what you already have.
The question I have is: why does the current software reported not match? There were no other GWM updates, dealership FRDS updates, and you didn't have the GWM replaced right? Ford might have a problem on the server end.

Dumb question from the newbie - but do the OTA updates mess anything that would be done through FORScan, or is that only when you would do any FDRS updates on the modules themself? Thank you!

I thought I had read very early on in this thread that OTAs don’t necessarily come in numerical order. Is this no longer the case?
Damn! This thread is scaring the hell outta me. I’m supposed to pick up my truck soon and I’m not sure I want to. Let’s say your truck gets to a point where it’s working flawlessly. Is there a way to disable all future updates and cut it off from “the system”. I think I’d rather give up all the network enabled features and options to have a reliability. We’re planning on living in a travel trailer on the road for a couple years. I can’t do that unless I have confidence.

Why would this thread scare you? Nothing that is happening is causing issues. It's 99% just people being impatient about OTA and looking at information that they aren't supposed to have access to (like FDRS and OASIS, which I admit I have provided, so I am not saying it's a criminal act, just adding context), but none of it should cause fear. You can turn off automatic updates but there hasn't been anyone with a busted truck or anything because of OTA.
I think you are just misunderstanding the point of the thread though.
The early days of OTA, especially for 2021 owners, was shaky because Ford had trouble rolling out updates. Most asking questions are 2021 owners, like myself, who had to wait longer than we were promised to get some features that 2022 owners have had for months.
Anyway, don't worry about the truck or OTA. Everything is going to be fine.
I have had the same issue@NeuroRad had. 2.8.1 has been trying for days. Charged battery to 100% on a tender now, everything closed. Manual updates all failed today, tried 4 times. Scheduled an update for 9:21; failed. Another scheduled for 2am. Not sure what the issue is. Have been successfully getting OTA updates. This one has been an issue.
1FTFW1E88MFA68594 is my VIN if someone wouldn’t mind please looking it up. Have had help from another gentlemen from other 14th gen Forums, and says insufficient battery; then pending install and I think I’m driving him crazy. 🤣 followed this forum a long time and finally Caved and made an account.
