I am another of the ones awaiting the 3.5.3+ updates (3.5.2 received back in early Oct. I check the network traffic on my local network every few days and notice that there is a lot of outbound data from the truck, assuming it is uploading things back to Ford. In this week's case, 1.1MB downloaded vs 5.8MB uploaded so far. Just curious if anyone has any idea what kind of data they are uploading.

Depends on what you have enabled or disabled in Sync. Anytime you start the truck, it sends current mileage and DTC codes to Ford's servers. If you have your Sync settings set to share personal data, driving habits, etc (there are many things in there you can toggle on and off), then some trucks will be uploading more data than others.

Gotcha. Yes, I knew some of the data would be that, but 5.8MB just seemed like a lot so thought I would ask.
I'm not sure which of the options can be deselected and not "defeature" the truck so just left them all on....

I left all of mine on, as well. My days of organized crime are way behind me. If they want to monitor the 3 miles I day that I drive, then can go ahead and do so.

Exactly, spot on.... Other than the part about past participation in organized crime. I didn't even get that far in my life. They want to monitor my trips to the store or to go fishing, have at it... Such a waste of resources though which I guess is what they are good at anymore...
I had the dealer preform the blue cruse update while I was on vacation but bluecruse still hasn’t activated. The truck tells me it is available but it never switches on. FordPass still says coming soon. Can someone look at it to see why it is still not active. Truck vin is 1FTFW1E83MFB93857.

I don't think there is a way for me or anyone to check that. No that I know of, anyway. You may have to contact Ford customer service for that issue.
I just realized you have an XLT. BlueCruise is not an option on your truck. You have Co-Pilot Assist, but you need Co-Pilot Active for BlueCruise which is only an option an Lariat trims and up.
The out-of-pocket would not apply to you. Owners of early Job 1 2021 F150's that came BlueCruise capable have a "recall" tied to their VIN that allows Ford dealerships to bill Ford for the labor hours required to program the modules needed for BC to work, and that recall expires September 30th. So any job 1 truck owners that have not gotten the BC update via OTA need to schedule an appt with their dealer before then to get it done. Otherwise, the campaign will expire and the dealership isn't going to work for free, so the vehicle owner would have to pay the labor hours to their dealer out-of-pocket to get the BC installed on their truck.
Would it be possible to check my VIN again? Pretty sure 2.8.1 is still pending and hasn't pushed back to the truck after the numerous attempts months ago. FordPass hasn't notified me of the needed update in a while. Thanks.

Testing BlueCruise is part of the service bulletin, you should ask your dealer (sarcastically) "How did BlueCruise work for your tech during the test drive you were paid for by Ford and then mysteriously stop working when I took the truck back?"

It has not been sent to you again since the last time it failed on 10/10.
