That's the reference I've been using. Again, I realize that not ALL of those releases may apply to my truck (especially since I did not get the blue cruise prep), but I'm certain this is just yet another instance of them booting it back to me because they are either unwilling or incapable of pushing the updates manually. I'd rather they tell me to go pound sand than feed me this "you're up to date" crap!
Can anyone tell me if/how those power-ups and core Sync version updates appear in FDRS? I don't have the adapter, so I've never seen the program first-hand but watching videos of those that are doing the self-updates I seem to recall the presence of available updates was pretty hard to miss. I'm probably being too forgiving here, but is there ANYTHING this guy could be looking at that could justify him saying there's no newer Sync version???? If not, then this video roughly translates to "F You, we don't feel like doing it"....
OK, one thing that might be in play here is your not having Blue Cruise. Ford has issued a couple of programs (21G01 and 22B08 if I recall) that are targeted at people with Job 1 trucks that are BC-enabled such that it is supposed to get them the BC functionality. This allows the dealership to bill Ford for all of the Tech's work back to warranty. If you don't have BC, they probably cannot go in and apply these updates and hope to get paid for the work. There would have to be some other underlying issue that they are trying to resolve like the grayed out Automatic Updates slider or something like that. I may be wrong, but could be why you are not getting all of these modules updated by the dealer. Ford tells them you will get the needed updates trickled in over time so turn you loose. Again, I may be all wet here, but this could be in play in your situation. Good luck with getting things sorted out. We are all pulling for you!!

OTA updates do not show up in FDRS but they do show in PTS (shown below). Anytime there's an APIM update shown in FDRS then that's an available Sync update so your tech was wrong about yours being the newest.

I'm pretty sure PTS is the "other diagnostic system" the manager referred to when I called, which he insisted indicated that there were no further updates available.

This info is extremely helpful - Thank you!!!
I definitely owe you a few rounds if our paths ever cross!

I didn't realize you didn't have the Active Prep package. Regardless, many of those outstanding updates include things that are not BlueCruise related, so many will still apply.

Just to be clear here...a dealership cannot force an OTA update - this comes directly from Ford but the dealership can update any modules showing as having an available update in FDRS so updating these would get you to the same level as the most current OTA Power-Up updates that some are getting.

No, what you're saying makes perfect sense, and your theory could be the most logical explanation for why they just seem so insistent on NOT installing these updates (I just wish they'd have the spine to tell me as much and not continue to waste my time with these "service" visits)!
For what it's worth, I do have actual Sync issues that are the catalyst for my request - a long list of malfunctions on my cluster and stack screen that I've been dealing with since I left the lot. I don't think I could possibly be any more explicit or clear with my requests, but by the time a tech actually puts their hands on my truck, it's like I might as well be communicating via smoke signals. If this visit is anything like the previous 6, I'll be right back to the beginning next week with my settings reverting to default and navigation pointing me in two different directions at the same time, with them telling me to "just bring it back in".
And I suppose it's possible that the IPC/GWM updates along with the TSB could correct these issues independently of any Sync updates, but the fact that they continue to be dishonest instead of actually TRYING to update still pisses me off immensely!

I have "Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0 w/ Connected Built-In Navigation" and "360-Degree Camera Package". I'm all but certain I am not BC prepped (which is fine by me, it wasn't on my personal wishlist).

Assist 2.0 doesn't include the BlueCruse hands-free feature. That's the Active 2.0 (and on Job 1 trucks was Active 2.0 Prep).
now I am confused.. I see people up above talking about 2.5.x update, I was on 2.3, now 2.6 was done yesterday. What gives.. 2021 model with 7/12/21 build date
So, to no surprise the sync version is identical to what I dropped it off with. Of course, the service manager was gone for the day and no one on-site was able to offer any answer for why I was told there are no updates available.
Also no mention of the two recalls my FP app continues to show, despite them having been part of my original request as well.
It's only about 1.5 miles from the dealer to my house, so I can't yet assess the sync behavior. I also love how "Lyft Service Provided" is always added to my service invoices. They do offer Lyft service, but I have not asked for or used it; I wouldn't be surprised if they're passing some BS fees to Ford for the warranty work.
To top it off, the 2.1.1 update seems to have changed from "pending" to "failure" (OTAM_E1016).
Unfortunately, any further explanation on why they did not attempt to install any updates will have to wait until tomorrow...
