If it's that recovery update, the dealer should be replacing the APIM if they can't get it to recover and Ford hotline can't provide anything more, it shouldn't be that complicated aside from potential delay in getting the replacement APIM. I had mine replaced in February, truck has received updates fine since.

If the dealer is giving you back the truck and just saying, "Weird, it won't update", and not moving on to working with the hotline or replacing the APIM then I don't know what their deal is. Maybe go to a different one.

They ordered a new APIM for my truck. Hopefully it will arrive soon and when they install it everything will work.

It takes far more than a new APIM. Lots of programming, and they need to know what they are doing. It was 16 days between my last APIM install (it took several) and when I picked up my BlueCruise enabled truck. Good luck.

I am hoping mine isn't the APIM. Also I have an XLT 302 high win no Blue Cruise, so maybe less programming I hope??

Yes, hopefully they should be able to do it in far less time than my 2 months and 4 days.

Lol. Your not really making me feel anymore at ease. Can they program the APIM without the truck being present? In other words can I keep my truck until the APIM has been successfully programmed and then just bring it in to have the new one installed in, say a day?

Yeah need to disconnect APIM replacement from whatever issues your dealer was having. I had my APIM replaced and it took less than a day once they had the APIM. They gave me back the truck while they waited for the APIM to arrive. So not everyone getting an APIM replacement needs to expect some huge delay. I suspect your issue was down more to them struggling with some of the installs after the fact. It's why I held off a couple months before even talking to my dealer about the BlueCruise update.

I have been reading about updates for a very long time and have been trying for a while to figure out if I'm current on updates. No luck so far. I had the stuck 1.7.1 update issue and had 22B08 performed on 5/25. I have been waiting for an update ever since, especially with my router saying the truck downloaded a 5MB file a week after 22B08. However, the SYNC 4 Software version is 20312_PRODUCT and Revision 243, which I think it's been for a long time, but I'm not sure. I tried looking at the Update Details in the System Update menu but it just tells me I'm up to date. I thought it was supposed to tell you the last update version, but I could be wrong. I called the Ford OTA department and they say I'm current too, but I'm not sure that is accurate.
I know I'm a newbie but it somebody could tell me if my poor truck is up to date or being neglected by the Ford mothership, I would very much appreciate it. VIN 1FTFW1E81MKE11947

I never said it WOULD happen. I said be prepared for the worst, because it CAN happen.

We went thru multiple APIM modules, as there was a bad batch of them, and a bad batch of Ethernet programming cables, both confirmed by Ford engineering and the field service rep.
