This Forum has specific instructions for the do it yourself upgrade of the modules. Its amazing the success stories from the general public versus the number of failures at the dealer level.
The dealer techs can't be this computer illiterate or incompetent. There has to be something else at work here!

I am a network admin. so I have the tech skills and would love to do it myself but do not want to pay out the $500+ to get what it takes to do it for something I might only use one time or only about once a year. In everyone's opinion is this something that could get a lot of use to justify the $$$ to get what you need? I wish you could do it with with the OBDLink cable and FORscan as I have all that.
Guess I could ask around at some of my local shops to see if I could rent one for a day or two because I doubt my local Ford dealer will let me use theirs to do it myself. My cousin has a 4x4 shop he might even have one.

Thank you for the info @Livnitup just what I was afraid of, guessing it will take a long time to get them up-to-date.

Totally agree. I had a couple of Amazon gift cards that ended up brining the cost of the Mongoose-Plus J2534 interface down to $200. I already have the charger/maintainer and the computer.
Figured at a minimum I can update the gateway via the Mongoose and APIM using USB stick so that my OTA starts to work.

In 10 days, it will mark TWO MONTHS since I first took the truck in (for it's first of FIVE) visits ... and it's still there.

I don't think the dealer knows what they're talking about. All necessary module updates are in FDRS to update for BlueCruise, nothing is waiting to be released for it yet.

My mongoose and maintainer comes tomorrow. Time to handle this myself. I can't deal with going back and forth. Some things in life you just gotta spend the money. Wish me luck.
