I let FDRS decide which ones to do first. It looked like it just went down the list. When I went back the second morning, it did a couple more updates, and I suspect one may overright another, in which case, it makes you run the module update again. I had a couple that updated twice. I suspect it was for that reason. All in all, for me it was fairly painless. I can say that I don't believe my OTA updates would have worked as they kept failing and when 2.30 went, it went into deep sleep multiple times every day, and when I started poking around with FDRS, a number of modules had what I think were called cmdtc's (don't remember exactly) but I do remember that they were orange when the others were all green. By the time I was done, no trouble codes, all green, and Blue Cruise was enabled.
I did forget one thing in my original post, the dealer waited several days for an engineer and said they knocked off early for Easter. Then they called back later in the day and said the engineer got back to them and told them I needed to remove and reinstall Fordpass...

And if and when they receive it, program it and all is well, you'll be ready to admit that you're wrong, correct?

The APIM contains your Sync software. If the module won't program and is BLANK, how the #$%^ do you expect it to work by fixing something ELSE and leaving the APIM module unprogrammed?

FYI: I got my update button back weeks ago. They lost my lane centering during the process, and while trying to fix that, they ran into issues where the APIM module would not program (even directly with the USB to Ethernet cable).

They are working directly with Ford engineering now, so I'm sure they know a little more about what they are telling them to do.

GWM and TCU should be done first, after that, it's pretty much up to you. Anything else that has a prerequisite should install it at the same time, or further updates will be hidden until other modules are updated.

I misread your post yesterday. Let me answer again:

Are you trying to say they won't perform ALL the available outatanding SW updates on ALL the modules in my truck?

if so, you couldn't be further from the truth. Look back in this thread.

They've had my truck for over a month. EVERY available update has been performed. There were well over a dozen to a dozen and a half. They've actually spent countless hours (days) replacing modules (some multiple times) and programming them, too. They've also performed two or three CSPs and even a recall. During this 5+ weeks, I've had a loaner vehicle the entire time. Right now, the APIM is the problem child. They ordered 2 but neither took a DIRECT programming. That's why the Ford Engineer is sending one now that he verified will take the programming (unless I misunderstood what my service manager told me about it).

If your comment was to imply that my dealership would not do all the module updates because Ford won't cover the cost to do it under warranty, you would be wrong. I have a long and happy relationship with my dealer and they take care of me.

I've been loosely following this thread, and I think my situation applies. I posted another thread some time ago about this.

My auto software updates were disabled. Took to dealer, they couldn't install software and said they had to order a new APIM. Two 1/2 months later they called and said bring it in. They kept for 4 days and were still having issues. Long story short, the issue was on the Ford server end with corrupt software. Ford updated software on their end, and then dealer was able to update my truck. I haven't looked yet to see the version or anything else, but it was crazy to say the least.

Can you verify what they are saying and post the printout like you did before? I want to know how truthful they are being. Thank you in advance. I will forever be in your debt good sir.
If anybody else can help me with this, I'd appreciate it. Please run my VIN in FDRS and tell me what updates have been performed in the past 8 days.

Default I count 4 updates since your last printout.

These are no longer on the list. Service advisor keeps telling me that they are waiting for Ford to contact them with a fix for updating the rest that are needed. That was two days ago and so far nothing happy to tell me.
I'm getting a little frustrated.
After watching the video it looks like the Gateway Module was programmed too.

Thank you Livinitup. You Rock!

Stupid question time again. How or where do you check the OTA version?
