No, not really. Given the matching p/ns, I would assume the Gates and ACDelco HD belts are really the same thing. I saw this with calipers, too - more than one reman brand had the same p/n as those garbage Cardones I bought a while back.

I've used a couple of AC Delco parts. They're OK... not anything special. I actually have some AC Delco ball joints for Frankie. Pretty sure they are repackaged Raybestos Pro's.

I used one of their water pumps on my parents Taurus, and that was on the car until they sold it. I replaced the pump with the timing set, cover, etc. Used some of their end links and rotors on my neighbors Suburban. It's all serviceable stuff.

Does yours have a metal fan too? That sumb!tch is sharp. My Expy had a plastic fan, and it was way easier on the arms.

Swapped out the plastic original fan in the 98 for one from a vortech supecharger kit back in 06. Like this one, -
