For giggles, I just turned the Hotspot on, and that is what I am posting this with on my laptop. Kinda funny, it brought over the SSID and credentials from my S10.
That's right, you have a old DT like mine, does it work on that ?

Android is getting a lot better with transferring data from an old phone to a new one, but that's one win I have to award to Apple. It seems like *everything* moves over seemlessly.

I don't have wireless on the desktop.... in fact, I haven't fired that up for quite a while. I was on my Lenovo laptop.

Everything moved over very well. I've had to sign into a couple of apps and sites so far, but that's about it.
So my biggest gripe... I didn't know this damn thing couldn't have a MicroSD card added. Kinda irritating, really. Such an Apple thing to do.
Was under the impression you could do it through usb/hardline A and C as mentioned earlier. Guess I didn't fully understand what you meant by "hook whatever to it ", apparently took that too literally. Yea, he doesn't mean a cable.....duh.
Anyway, changed the adapter settings on the PC, no problem now. Grabbed my LT from work this morning, that does it automatically....well, it will now after the initial.
Haven't attempted the big screen again yet. I'll just leave it disconnected this time.
Figured it had to be something simple. Brain fart maybe...well, actually spending more a few minutes figuring it out is more like it.,,,,spent more time talking about vs working it
Don't use wireless at the house normally..hard wired/cat 5. Have a back connection now..so success...Thanks fellas!

Apple hasn't had an SD slot for a while now.
They removed SIM for US versions of Iphone 14. to get a sim you need an international version. You need to call the supplier to make sure you get that one as the carrier websites all default to US versions.
The international version will work just fine, it just doesn't have some, special, latest 5G that is only used in a few places. 5G still works, just not the special 5G.
No, you look it up.
Ok, I looked it up. The special 5G is for something called MMWave and is used for installations like concerts and sporting events and is intended to remove load from the normal airwaves and move the load to the internet within that facility.

Even with the new "less than ideal" changes, I still feel the same way.
I have a couple of daughters that are at a camp right now. Last night she told my Wife "I won't complain about not having an iPhone anymore because the Samsung's are the only thing getting service here".

I'm not a fanboy, just explaining what they did.
I was not happy with the no SIM either but didn't know to call and ask the carrier at that time.
I really loved my Motorola phones. They would get signal where others couldn't. Even the flip phones that needed a battery swap in the middle of every day would get great connection.
Then I got a Droid 3. That thing had a special version of Android that made doing anything more difficult. So much irremovable bloatware that nothing else could be stored in internal memory, all had to be on the slower SD.
I got so pissed at that thing one day I threw it and busted it into pieces.
I got a Samsung Nexus to replace it and that thing was good. No bloatware, just android. Samsung had the buttons in the normal Android orientation then. Used that thing for years.
Then a Nexus 6. Another good phone by Motorola. That thing was huge at the time.
Broke the screen after a couple years got a Samsung S8. I hated that thing. Buttons in wrong place, special software, bloatware, short battery life.
One of my kids told me to get an Iphone as the stuff is in the same place on every version, no irremovable bloatware . So I got an Iphone 8. I don't love it. I kept it from like 2017 till last December when the screen was getting dim and the battery life was getting short, then got a 14 . It pisses me off about things too, but year to year consistency isn't one of those things. No SIM pissed me off but not enough to send it back.
I may be getting old as I just want the buttons and controls to stay in the same place.
I just realized that my 97 F150 and the 20 F150 meet this criteria also. The newer one has more buttons and doodads but all the ones that are on the 97 are in the exact same place on the 20 and operate the same way (except the radio). Maybe that's why I keep with the same manufacturer.
Also, what kind of camp?
Double also, are the Samsungs still full of bloatware that can't be removed? I would consider Facebook, instagram, and NFL bloatware and would remove them.

I had the first Droid.... had a metal case, removable battery.... and that thing cured me from ever buying another Motorola. I had 3 or 4 Motorola's prior to that phone, and loved them. That stupid phone would call the wrong people all the time.... the screen would clearly say "Bill", and it would have dialed "Bob". Every app, phone number, message, pic, video was all right where I left it. Lock screen pics came over too. It remembered SSID's and passwords too. A good portion of going from the 7 to my 10 was there, but as Ohio said - Samsung improved on this a lot.
No bloatware that I can see, but they may be because it was removed on the 7 or 10, and didn't make it over.
Wait.... Bixby. That is a POS, and I need to disable that again. It seems to be Samsung's version of Siri. I'm just fine using the Google Assistant.
Fixed! The 10 had its own Bixby button. They integrated it into the power button on the S22, so every time I press and hold, here comes Bixby up in my biz.
