Yeah, I don't get it. Way too many guys wanting everyone else to do their research for them. If he hadn't quoted all of my pics, I'd pull a Brew and go remove them all.
I run a few lil ole Honda MC lists. In 2000 members, there are a half dozen or dozen steeped gurus. Maybe 2 dozen more that have a firm grasp on 1 aspect or another. Etc etc. but there are a few new guys that have no basis if understanding that during 64-66, an S90 had sorta 3 different engines and documentation those years was scant... and what we need now was MAYbe scribbled on a scratchpad for work that week on the assy line.
I have had a 2991F150 fir ~3 years, a Chiltin or Hayes manual... and I get to; ~"Anything beyond this (4x4 limited slip) differential work is beyond most home mechanics and requires special tools. Get thee to a $hop." Yet, that is WHY I bought the darned manual in the first place!!!
Right now I am looking to maybe repeat my 3 years of 'now and then work' on it to bring a 2006 F250 up to snuff so I can load a decent camper on it... on an old vet's budget. It's hard to find a thread that's not dead on this. I read about the "dreaded 3-Valve," but that.it's fine if maintained, but w few details.
You guys are road-wrench angels. Your reward, as "teachers," (see your bible,) comes more later than now. Some CANnot see this in their hour if need. They are all angnst. Forgive them. A jerk need a Dr as much as a nun. Some jerks will become the better for your forbearance. If you "cure" 1 in 5 you are doing in a week what takes a shrink a year. Keep On Truckin' ye merry gentlemen. Let nothing you despair... or along those lines. Some think it's ALL very simple and you're holding back. They have no clue - and are majorly frustrated at whatever puzzles them. A friggin' manual doesn't even help at times. Ya' know? It can be frustrating. And then... "My oil pressure gauge seems stuck in the middle." Ford-Designed-In "problems." It can drive a guy very nuts. Don't cave cuz some of we lessors weren't well raised or are half brainless or have a bad hair day.
Kudos and HUGE THANKS for what you do for ALL of us... including those who are temporarily ungrateful. You cannot shake off ignorance nor stupidity overnight... or in a mere week. Keep On... Truckin'! Please...
Thanks Bill, much appreciated. The key to a lot of success throughout the internet.... whether it be searching for info or asking for it.... is to ask the right questions. Had he asked me a specific question, I know someone that does know. He asked for pinouts for each trans, then told me "these are different". Well, yeah. LOL.
I'm a tight wad. So before I dropped 80 bucks on a new wiper motor, I went back out and took it back apart to see if I somehow missed some rust, or maybe something grabbed onto one of the magnets before I put it back together. Everything looked fine. The armature rides in the bottom of the housing... and there was no grease in it when I pulled it apart. So I didn't put any back in it the first time. This time I put a slight dab of dielectric grease down where it rides. Problem solved.
Interesting timing, I just read the zombie thread revival on the airbag safety and crash test ratings the other day.
Did not expect to be leaving the 10th gen world so suddenly.
Cousin and I were getting wood for my father in law, Let him drive my old truck so we could load up two trailers at once. Noticed I couldnt see him behind me anymore (had a few cars between us) then i get a phone call and I instantly knew it wasnt good news. First picture is what I saw when I rolled up. Thankfully I had already spoken to him so I knew he wasnt dead. Hes lucky... walked away with just a seatbelt rash. In the second pic You can see the hood touching the drivers headrest, a passenger probably would be in the ICU. Some idiots were hugging the center line and he had to hug the shoulder to not hit them. (Based off what he told me this is what I think happened but its just my opinions and no one will truly know what happened cz its all a blur to him now) I think while hugging the shoulder the trailer wheel went off the edge (county highway just asphalt then a small drop to grass) he turned the wheel to get back on and when he did the trailer pushed him to the left towards oncoming traffic. He then decided he would rather hit a ditch than people so he jerked the wheel hard right. Truck/trailer went fish tailing and he went off the road. Went through the small drainage ditch and into the lot on the side of the road. From there it looks like the truck was sliding sideways and crashed into (through? completely demolished it sadly I didn't get a pic) a pump house (damage from driverside bed) that then caused him to flip/roll 1.5 times landing upside down. He unbuckled himself and was able to crawl out. Pintle hitch was snapped off but safety chains were still attached. In the 3rd picture you can see the wheel in the ditch in the distance.
So now I no longer have to decide between keepin my truck has a backup or selling it... cz shes gone.
