EDIT: I have the DCF899, and although it's not tested in this video, it comes to play. It's a serious unit!

The 899B is a beast, but they don't last. About 6 months and as short as 2 months if you use them twice a day. Hopefully the 900 and 961 will fair better in the long run.. Can't off the compressor yet, but they're inching closer

Can't believe the soon to be ex boss acts like that. He obviously could care less at the moment.... It'll get real after he's gone...real quick.

Who knows, perhaps your old boss will be job hunting in a few weeks dj.

I finished "fixing" the transmission in the Vette.
It had a broken tab/ bolt hole where the shifter bolted on.
The shifter was moving and not allowing full engagement and it would pop out of gear, or just not go into gear.
The correct fix would be to pull the trans and change out the tail shaft housing.
But since the housing needs to be replaced, a temporary/ maybe permanent fix has been applied.

I threaded the hole deeper, and JB welded a stud into the trans with the spacer I made.
Now just the nut needs to come off to remove the shifter.
I also threaded the other two holes deeper and installed longer bolts.
I used lock tight on the bolts and nuts.

Is there a difference between the 899 and 899B? Mine's just an 899 - but it had the same ratings. I've had it for a while... At least 15 months because the first video I used it in was my F150 pinion seal video... that was in Jan of 22. I usually only have it on 1 or 2 though, because it's got plenty of power.

I had 3" of snow and teens overnight, and they're calling for 66° tomorrow. Nutso.

Brakes are all swapped, just need to flush the fluid. Taking a break for lunch, then getting new shoes on the Acura. Back at it out here when I get back.

Oh, and a PSA: Don't leave a Bluetooth OBDII adapter plugged in for a week unless you want your battery to die.

Had another great offroad adventure today. "Frosty Park." We encountered hip-deep drifts in more than one place, and it 80 degrees just two days ago. Nutso, indeed! I made it through everything and never got stuck, even with running boards still on. I did wipe out a tire chain, though. That's annoying.

There was a guy in Ranger with a huge lift, 40" tires, and a V8 swap. It was super-cool. He was the drift buster for the rest of us.

It's been a very productive weekend.... I finally got the garage somewhat cleaned. It needs a bit more, but I can move around now, LOL. This week is (now) supposed to be somewhat decent. Decent enough to get working, anyway. Ohio... a while back, we briefly talked about using Evapo-Rust on parts that I can't (don't want to) soak in it. I believe it was you that used a "paint on" method. If so, can you explain how well it worked for you? I have brake parts that I'd like to derustify and I don't want to soak them, necessarily.
