So I got two good first gears now, I'm going to use this one because the other trans is pretty close to being rebuilt.

So... freeze plugs. I found this in one of the chambers on the passenger side.... you know, the side with a blown head gasket. Wonder why?

Looks like she had a steady dose of tap water
youre wasting no time diving into that mustang huh? Lol

have you been recording any of this for YouTube?

I really want to drive it, LOL. Still waiting on a lot of parts to arrive. Almost got the block ready for paint.

On the trans, I am 99.9% sure I can handle it on my own... but I am going to see if my Buddy will come over.

And Youtube... yes, I have a lot of video. Still waiting for the state to get the title to the PO. I don't want to put much on Youtube until then.

I know. I seem to be caught in this limbo between supporting member and non-supporting member. The mailbox got smaller but because it got smaller I can't access it? Hopefully it's a weekend thing??????

Brew, I did get this information about our friend though. To directly quote about engine design considerations;

""Engine RPM does not effect the time needed to burn the fuel charge mixture for a given air\fuel mixture, but the time required for combustion takes place over more degrees of crankshaft at higher engine speeds which requires spark advancement.""

That's just basic engine info. To paraphrase the rest. ""For this example this has nothing to do with extending an engines overall RPM range. This is about what's going on during the existing RPM range and the engines PCM operating strategy. If the engines sensors and sensor control doesn't match the engine design strategy the engine is not going to work. It's important to remember the design strategy is not limited to physical design. Outside controlling authorities that mandate fuel efficiency for example is also a design strategy. An engine design that is meant to run at one efficiency will not run with at another efficiency with the installation of an engine control and sensors meant for a different engine design. That's true for these generational changes because they are very different. The air\fuel ratio underneath the graphic representations seen lies a 20 cell digital engine timing control that is not accessible to extend or truncate air\fuel at a given RPM. There are design limits. The limits were determined based on the entire engine design. The ability to pick and choose what design considerations to alter to achieve a favorable operating condition does not exist. It's best to see this all for what it was designed to be, a closed loop system with limits. Attempts to alter the loop will involve extensive modifications beyond even the most seasoned mechanics and would not pass any engine inspections.""

This goes back to what I was told and passed on to you already. The ability to piggy back or intercept with a new 20 cell map or add a second 20 cell map in the efficiency strategy was taken away by the government a long time ago.

Hopefully this explains it all better. It answered a lot of questions I had.
