River's No. The bolt idea for the transmission can not be threaded to the end. Only the beginning. The threads if used to mount tranny's are smooth, so the transmission slides up the line to fit into the dowels, without having to fight with it. No long threaded rod. Also, unless the rod is at least a 5 grade, it will bend from the transmission weight and movements.

I was just being humorous. I understand there are shoulder and non-shoulder hex head bolts. As a practical matter, I have cut many heads off of bolts for welding. It's often the easiest solution.

Sonya got her new shoes and the 18'' wheels I posted last week put on yesterday. Now on to the new stripes. Purple. Should be slightly more subdued that the Grabber Blue stripes from before. lol Time for her oil change and a wash. She's filthy inside and out. The ride though is night and day difference with the 235-50r18's series vs the 245-45r19's. So much easier on the back on the bumps with more cushion in the sidewalls. (Honestly I like the lower wheels over the new ones, but my back likes the others better). Go figure, eh?

Below is a before picture.

Figured out some things about it tonight.... it has a 2.73 rear gear

It still has the factory clutch quadrant.... which is rare to find nowadays

The master cylinder needs replaced. Wheel cylinders need replaced.

The motor turns over.... and I didn't even need to force it. BUT, the cylinder walls do have surface rust.

Whitey.....I may be wrong, but I don't think that that particular fuel injector is going to work correctly where it is right now.

LOL From the looks of it might be the only thing that might work correctly. Wouldn't do much good but it could still work.

White, was the car originally MAF or MAP? Is this second ECU aftermarket or is there aftermarket in there now?

Yeah... I am going to agree with that, LOL. The way he took it apart, I'm going to go ahead and assume that he did not have a fuel line release tool.

It is a factory MAP (aka Speed Density), but I am fixing on getting a MAF engine harness and ECU this morning. Supposed to meet a guy before 11 am.

Just a couple of other observations about the car. It does not have rear defrost, which would imply that it was originally sold in CA, FL, or HI most likely (or other warm climate states). He told me that he was told it was shipped here from HI, so maybe that is true. It is not, however, a CA car because in 88 the cars sold in CA were MAF.
