I have a question on the Stainless Steel front brake lines. What is the difference on the front lines between the 4wheel ABS and RABS? The hoses on one site say they only fit on the 4w ABS and another says fits both. There is also an up to 11/98 (thru the early 99's) then 11/99 and up (mid 2000 on) hose listing which has no bearing on my 98.

The threads are the same and they both use the banjo bolt for the calipers, so since I haven't swapped my new ones in yet, I am hoping I have the correct ones I have a set of 950-65003's, which are the 97 to early 99, but am having a bit of memory lapse on why they would be different on the 2wABS vs the 4wABS.

Does anyone remember the difference or if there really is any. I'm hoping it is a typo.

I was fighting a router problem 2 weeks ago and also couldn't get a good signal on the other side of the house/yard, so I got creative. I used my Belkin AC and ran a 40' ethernet cable to the front of the house. I took my old Linksys (2 yr old) and hooked it at the end. I now have 2 wi=fi signals and have great range between the two. It just takes me to swap signals if I go outside and need the wifi. Luckily, now I can update my truck radio (Android) via wifi and not have to go find a hot spot somewhere, or pull the radio head and bring it in to update. It's not that hard to remove, it's just easier with the extra range of the second router, than removing it for servicing.

 

Hows it goin friends? I basically did the same thing you did AK, with the exception of using router (s) or repeaters. I don't use coax anymore, quit that long ago. Well I am using a router, just the service provided router for wireless. The same set up at home and at the trailer, never have a problem, it's pretty solid. Ethernet all the way for the most part. Use to have problems with coax/Ethernet switches in the past. After giving up the coax it's been smooth. My parents and brother are total Ethernet where hard lined as well.

I know they still make coax/Ethernet switches, I've seen them recently. There's so many empty coax plugs in homes, what do you do with them ? Well, in the trailer I use them for local TV and radio via anteni. The power antennas of today kick butt.

 

I sort of explained that in the other thread when you were talking about it, it won't work due to the way they connect. You never replied, so I didn't explain further. This is why braided won't work for 97/98.

However I did figure out a way to make the connection myself using a trailer brake accessory. This info is in my Expy brake conversion thread.

Now if you could find a supplier who will make front brake lines for the truck, you could go braided. I couldn't find a supplier who would, reason for coming up with away to do it myself BUT, - I opted out of it all together. The expense and work involved really wasen't worth IMO. Replacing with factory type lines often isn't that big of a deal, nor is it expensive. So it seemed a little foolish going with SS braided IMO.

Yeah, I've got come older coax in the walls. Don't know what it was for, or how long it has been there. The Comcast guy wanted to reuse them.... and was pretty disappointed when I told him I want it all to be brand new. They charged me 100 dollars to install it, so I am getting all new coax. The coax stops at the modem though. I have a good amount of CAT % and CAT 5E throughout the house now. Nothing beats the cable. I would love to tun ethernet to some stuff, like my WiFi thermostat.... but it isn't an option. Currently I have two wireless (Linksys & Actiontec) routers and a switch (Cisco).

As far as antennas are concerned, mine doesn't even have an amplifier on it, and it pulls in over 40 channels beautifully. Keep wondering what it'd do with a 10 decibel amplifier on it. I've got one somewhere - in a box, LOL. Still not all the way unpacked.

 

Pretty much everyone I know has done away with cable. It's just too expensive for what you get. Opted for internet only. I'm pretty sure Comcast doesn't even offer internet only anywhere lol. They would loose too much money if they did...like I said robbery. My brother in Florida is sort of a big wig for Comcast. So we've got a good understanding how those companies work...no shame.

I have internet only. Mine is a business account though. I told them straight up that I use a Google Voice VOIP system, and I did not want any phone, security, or tv subscriptions. That was literally how I opened my conversation with them. LOL.... it worked.

Comcast business is not a shared bandwidth - you get what you pay for 100% of the time.

 

Haha, I won't be unpacked for along time. I needed to find my little dremel cut off the other day and failed. Searched for a good hour or so. I found my big Makita.

When I packed my stuff, Doc and I listed everything that went into a box or tub, then numbered them. This saved me a ton of time finding things. But still, some stuff didn't get written down. Lost in the shuffle. I have exactly 99 boxes and totes. If it wasn't written down, I won't find it anytime soon.

 

That's great! Yea so many use to think they had to get the full package to get internet. Up here, Comcast doesn't offer internet only to the home owner, absolutely not. So you have have to choose another provider that does. WOW is one of the good ones here, you only get and pay for what you want. AT&T and Comcast are horrible only offering entrapment packages. Sucks, for some folks there isn't a choice as no other providers exist.

 

Brew.....This is the listing on the ones for 97-98's. It is specific to our years. The ones for the later 99 and up are 95065001, so they are different part numbers.

So going by application, it seems that these are available and are suppose to fit our trucks. Confusing, but it comes up that way in a few sites. Your thoughts.
