Good link, made it easy to understand what's going on. I'll have to read through it again, - a little uneasy about the healing part of it..
Yeah, I wanted them to cut it out and move one out of her leg up there. Ironically, my BIL used to work in a cardiac unit... he told me if it gets bad enough, they will do that. But it has to basically be a "no other option" scenario. At the cardiologist appointment, he said that over 90% of his patients never have an issue again after following this regimen he has given her. After hearing those odds, I felt more at ease.

Dang, I assume she has been OK since? The doc basically said that if you go a year, it's more than likely healed. But it can take up to a year.

My Wife's SCAD is not ideal for a stent due to the size. The cardiologist told us that a stent would eventually plug and cause another heart attack.

Right, replacing the section seems like the thing to do. They know what they're are doing though.

Yea that sounds better, - the regimen must play a huge role in the healing process then. I guess (at first anyway) I sort of got the impression that one would be on thin ice for a year or so...and maybe it'll heal right by then. That didn't sound all to promising.

I imagine the regimen will be a life long thing, must dietary ehh. Hope you guys don't have to give up your smoker.... jk

Oh Yea, - Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

This regimen is a total of 10 pills per day... 9 different meds. She had a bit of a flare up today, and had to take one of her nitro pills. It acted quick, and the chest pains subsided quite quickly. Unfortunately, the residual headache afterwards is dealt with for hours after you take it.

Some of the meds are for life. I know the cholesterol pill is for sure, even though she does not have cholesterol issues. They told her the blood thinner may be able to be stopped in 2 years. Just depends on how well it heals. The only dietary change they really said is an no-no is salt. She's never been big into salting her food anyway.... but we've had to really had to pay attention to sauces, seasonings, etc. Kinda weird, because my doc told me I don't get enough salt, LOL. I was actually told to put salt in my hand and lick it.

Anyway, the only way to know for absolute certain that it is healed is by doing another angiogram.... and those come with risks anytime they are done, so that probably won't be done unless she has problems going forward. They can tell quite a bit by an echocardiogram and/or EKG.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Hope it was a fantastic day for you all.... we saw a pretty brutal accident on the way over to SLC this morning. I keep thinking of how rotten that family's day has probably been.

New Hurst should be here tomorrow.... according to FedEx.

Gotta do CV axles and front wheel bearings on my neighbors Suburban tomorrow. Looks a lot harder than it needs to be. There seems to be a difference of opinion as to whether or not the strut assembly needs to be removed to get it out. I'm looking at these thinking if I remove the end links (I just put new end links in it for them a few months ago) then it will come out.

Seems like a lot of guys argue about it, LOL. I like Ford guys a lot more.

It sounds like it's easier if you remove it vs loosening it. You'll figure that out as you go.

I didn't think I worked on one of those in the past., but I actually have.. Changed the plugs in one after an acquaintance made the attempt. The thing didn't run after he was finished lol. As it turned out, he used Champion plugs and cracked every one running them in lol. I'm not kidding , all of them, he didn't miss one..... plug insulators were cracked, a few were missing pieces. They were tight though lol.

Good luck working on that thing white, hopefully it's in a garage with heat. It's a frigid one today....24* and it's not going to get much warmer until Tuesday, low 40's. Then drop right back down Wednesday. I have to troubleshoot a gas dryer that takes forever to dry cloths today, those are usually easy.

I am done... took me 3 hours to do both sides, and a good 30 minutes of that was removing a bolt I broke in the strut... then finding one in my bin to replace it. As I am typing this his Wife is sending me 50 per hour to do it. I'll take it, lol. Weather is chilly, but nice enough for November.

Oh... I removed the two bolts out of the strut assembly down on the control arm. Then got the three up top just loose enough to swing it out of the way. I put the CV's back in before putting the new bearing/hubs in, and that bought me some more clearance going back in.
