Had dual matched firestiks on the truck in high school....what can I say, it was a thing for awhile.

Well that was a total bust. Completely unsuitable for automotive uses, and it has a restocking fee. Typical HF.

I still have my K40 magnet mount from back in the day, a couple mobile CB's, and an RCI 2970 10-meter radio (which may or may not have been run on 11 meters). I still have my President Washington base station and a 5/8 wave ground plane base antenna, too. I should've gotten rid of that stuff years ago.

I waited until evening to shoot mine, and ended up with a dozen or so mosquitoes stuck in the paint. I'm glad it was intended to be a "good-enough" job. Besides, the chipped areas are far more noticeable than the embedded bug parts.

EDIT : After doing some reading, it looks like wax should wait for about three months on automotive paint. I'd guess that Rustoleum isn't much different.

While I don't like to see your paint messed up.... I'm for anything that kills mosquitos.

I have a Stalker 9
It's an export that got imported back to the states.
It's based off a cobra 148 chassis if I remember.
AM/FM upper and lower side band and upper freqs above the normal 40 channels. (85 total)
It has been worked on and swings from 2 watts to 6 on the low side, and 6-13 wats on the high side.
It also has a Seldeta power echo MIC.. Mic.. mic..
I sometimes ran it on the low side into a 250 watt Texas star linear amplifier.
I had a Wilson 1000 but it was stolen so I drilled a 5/8 hole in the roof of the truck and mounted the base of a K40 there.
I could open the sunroof and take the antennae off if I went into a parking garage, had a little cap that went over the mount.
You could barely see it from the ground.
I put it in my Super Duty for a couple trips, I have an extra mag mount for the K-40 but didn't want to leave it in there for someone to break into it.
And now the F-150 is Aluminum so the ant. won't stick to it. ( I haven't had the guts to drill a hole in the roof yet.) lol
So now it collects dust.

Waited until it dropped to 90 and fixed the paint. I am floored at how well this cheap gun works.

I think it looks pretty damn good for a 12 dollar paint gun, a 16 dollar quart of paint, and a complete rookie driving.

Well... the paint does have acetone and hardener mixed in. So that adds cost.

My setup;

EDIT: this is part of what I fixed. After I botched it, I just let it dry before I made it worse. That takes a lot of self control for me, lol.

I have to wonder if the ongoing issue with this thread loading to the wrong place isn't because it's so long. Since it seems to annoy a lot of people, I wonder if a potential solution would be to lock this thread and start "Thinking II" or something.

Just throwing that out there....

I would rather deal with clearing out my cache, personally.
