I've got crap off of windows using Meguiar's clear coat cleaner.

I didn't realize that I was going to be in a race with the weather today. I got as far as I can for now. My original plan was to re-use the hydraulic roller lifters that came in the motor.... but I negated that after taking a REAL close inspection. To check PTV clearance, you are supposed to use a solid lifter. So, I read on the Corral on how to make one out of the factory lifter. I also pulled a couple of my 1.71 Cobra rockers off of the 302 to make sure.... It didn't even touch the Play-doh. Ford put the biggest SOB'n valve reliefs in these pistons, I'm not surprised. I just wanted to make sure with this cam and rocker arm combo.

These are the solid lifters that I made. I decided I better paint them, just in case - LOL. I grabbed the first can of paint I could find, and it turned out being the paint for the F150.

Can't wait to get these!!

Absolutely no impression at all....

These are the copper header gaskets that I used. They are supposed to resist blow outs if, or should I say "when" the headers bolts come loose.

This is as far as I got before the rain came....

Beat it!

I just got these magnetic spark plug sockets today, so I figured I would give them a whirl on the 351, although on a stand it's about as easy as you'll get for putting plugs in a motor... anyway, these things are pretty sweet. I think they will be really useful on modular plug changes.

After reading about people having issues with copper header gaskets not sealing..... I went and ordered some Percy's. I've been hearing god things about them for years.... but I already had the copper gaskets. It's always good to do your research after you've installed them, right?

My question to MSD....

Your Question Was:

Dear Sirs,

I purchased this 8452 distributor new, in the box, but it is missing the roll pin that holds the gear to the shaft. Can you please provide me with the correct part number for that pin so I may order it? Also... I would like to put a brand new MSD cap and rotor on it. Could you also please provide the correct cap and rotor for this?
My answer from MSD....

Would yo like to have it sent in for service? we could repair what is needed
Seriously? Pretty sure I can handle this one, LOL.

I'm with you. I hate this and it happens almost every time. I recently went to order some rotors and going through the companies part ID process of make, model, sub-model but under sub-model the choices were two different rotor diameters. That's not an SE, SEL, XL or whatever sub-model. Also, if I knew what size was sitting on the car behind the wheel I wouldn't need to go through the process. I wrote them asking them how they were helping me with this? Aren't they suppose to know what size I need? Their response was about returning parts to the supplier. Had nothing to do with why I wrote or my questions. I just wrote back asking them to read what I wrote this time because it's all about what I need to buy, not about something I've already bought. Email subject line should in the future be, "Please deliver to someone willing to read."

I sent him a reply right before I posted telling him "no, I just need the part numbers that I requested". No answer back yet.

Color me surprised.

Thanks AK!

As if I didn't have enough projects going right now.... the Wife said she wanted to hire someone to finish our basement. No way am I going to pay someone to do something that I am perfectly capable of. So, I started putting up one of the walls last night... I put down the bottom board with Liquid Nails. Found some hack wiring job done by the builder. SOB's left Romex laying on top of copper water pipes AND some duct work - and yes, the Romex sheathing is discolored where it has been making contact. It is the main feed to the kitchen's North wall, and also my outlet on the back patio. So, I will be coming up with a solution there. Need to find out if it is still legal to have a junction box in the ceiling. Here shortly I will message my Buddy who is a Journeyman Electrician, just to make sure. I think I am fine as long as I have a cover on it, and leave it exposed in the ceiling. Kinda been wanting to make a ceiling mount for a projector anyway, so I might get nutty and make an outlet in the basement ceiling which is on the breaker for the kitchen, LOL.
