Yeah... didn't even fiddle with the Whirlpool. The Wife and I just hopped in the F150 when I got home from work and went and grabbed a new Samsung. So, there are two major players in my city for appliances. We went to the first one, which is a home furnishing store. They literally had just sold the very last washer they had. The lady told us there is a shortage of washers and dryers right now..... had you guys heard this? They won't get any more in until September 28th. Anyway.... we went over to HD, which had about 20 out on display. Since we'd just been over to the other store with no washers, we started off with the question"what do you have in stock"? HD had a grand total of THREE in stock. Two were LG's, and they had this lone Samsung, which was a floor model. Ironically, they would not sell any other floor models but this one. I'm not at all an LG fan, so we went with the Samsung. It was a 700 dollar unit, and we got it for 500 though, so I felt pretty good about that.

Good deal!

So far I've only purchased those in pairs wash/dryer. They usually went with house while cycling thru. Really hated moving things lol.

They didn't have the match in stock. Plus, I just did the t-stats, element, and the thermal fuse on the Maytag.

The Wife just looked up the dryer match, and it is 700 bucks too.

BTW, that POS Whirlpool was heavy! It also was not drained apparently!

Just throw some Samsung badges on the Maytag and call it good.

Whitey....you should of just LS swapped that washer. LOL

At least that is what they would say on a couple of the FaceBook groups. I left 2 of them today. They got a bit too political for my taste.

About 10 years ago I was helping my daughter move from a second story apartment. Tried the internet about draining the washer and didn't find anything but did come across washer pumps are designed to lift water about 3 feet when the tub is empty. The saved water weight is part of the dampening for the spin cycle and it's not easy to empty when there is no second story drain.
