Thinking
No, that was the day she threatened to burn down the house and kick me. She threw a boot at my head another day that I still need to patch, my CD spindle against the wall shattering some that I cannot replace, and a book at the wall damaging a power outlet faceplate. We won't mention the threats to kill me. All in all I hope she's happier where she's at because I'm glad it is done.
So the weather has been decent a few days here lately and I've been slimming the pile of truck parts/fluids in my living room. So far I've done the rear diff, transfer case, transmission and filter, engine oil and filter and hood struts. She just rolled 202k (purchased at 199k with no history) and unfortunately the plug was still in the trans pan and the transfer case fluid was BLACK. Nice and clean now though. I tested the coolant with a Performance Tools tester (link below) and it read -45*+. Basically the needle just followed to level of coolant to the top. I'm wondering if that means there is too much coolant vs water or if it just means the tester is crap? Any opinions?

Glad you like "Big Nasty"!
Damn, that deal with your ex sounds like a regular ol' blues song Aragorn....
BuckO, how long since you changed the coolant last? I do mine every two years in my truck and Expy (going to sell that Expy though).
Speaking of the Expy.... what do you guys think about 1,000 for my asking price? Too high, too low?

I bought my house in July, then my Blue 2000 F150 got T-boned after the 1st load moving. Got the current truck in August without maintenance records and am just now getting to the maintenance, except for immediate oil change. So when was the coolant changed last? I have no idea. This is on the list along with the thermostat, fuel filter (in my living room), plugs, front diff. and probably more I'm forgetting atm. Basically I was just wondering if my coolant is mixed improperly or if my tester is is just junk even though it is brand new. Either way it will get replaced soon. Damn, what a ramble. Sorry for the long post.
Wow. You guys have talked about everything this weekend. LOL. I just got home from up north. It was in the 70's all weekend in North Pole. Nice sunny weather.
I was putting in a radio for my SO when I find no brackets to mount the radio too. The old aftermarket radio was a single din and it came with a preformed mount that could not be used for a DD head. We climbed into the Mustang and went to the big yard up there. No RAV4's in the lot. I went out and looked at a T100 and Tacoma's but nothing was right. I grabbed a set of Highlander brackets and made them work with a lot of fabrication and grinding. But they work.
I also got my left side wiper cowl panel, so I'm golden on parts right now.
Now the weird part. While in the yard's office, I was showing my GF the different parts and what they fit. The owner came in. Said I know you. Yep. And old parts friend from when I was running one of the local salvage yards. He asked what I was doing up in Fairbanks, and said visiting. Then he floored me. He offered me a job on the spot. He said he needed someone who knew new and used parts, and asked me to work the summer (or longer if i WANTED). He said he would like me for at least 6-1 to 10-1. I told him I was retired but he still wanted me to come up. He threw a big hourly or hour commission deal, that I honestly am considering. I 4 months I could have a new long block installed and repainted and still have money left over. Decisions. My GF told him she would get me to take the job. Damn women. LOL
I have a question. Has anyone seen Yogi (Bear)? I hope he is okay. I haven;t seen any of his posts recently.
