Anyway... thanks all, it turned out perfect.
I don't think it's all too common for the seal to leak or go out with these trucks. In certain other trucks yes, but these...not too common ime. At least I haven't heard of it.

Glad you got her fixed up white.

253K and 25.5 years old.... I figure it's probably OK for it to give up, LOL. It didn't have any movement in the bearing that would cause it. The Neapco u-joints still feel new. I don't know.... it's weird. It wasn't hot when I moved it to the spot it leaked either. It had sat for at least 24 hours, and I just moved it over because it was supposed to snow on Sunday night - and I was going to drive it to work. After that episode, it did not leak again. I pulled the plug, and I could still feel fluid with my pinky.

Really hard to understand why it did it.... but, we'll see how she goes.

I see they shut the comments off on this video.

I'm betting it's because they all say that he dumped the POS Dodge and has an F150 again.

Yea anything can go at those miles, it took 350,000 something miles before the 98 lost a rear axle seal on one side. That was due to axle wear under the bearing. Funny thing is, the bearing seamed fine. The headers I installed on that truck a few years back rusted through at two of the primaries. Right at the bend from the head passenger side. Man that was quick, within 2000 miles or so lol. Fired it up 3 months ago, thought it blew a plug....nope header holes. I guess that's what happens leaving it outside, getting no attention.

I haven't driven mine much either. Had to do the alternator brushes, battery, and now this seal. Damn things want to get driven I guess, LOL.

I can't recall what happened, or if he even said. I do know he has an F150 for his shop truck now though, LOL.
