There are 4 key modules within the network that are tied to each other in terms of Sync updates. These are the APIM, GWM, TCU and IPC. I don't have access to FDRS now as I am at work, so I do not know which of these is showing for you at the moment. Let's assume it's a GWM update. Once that GWM gets applied, another one of these will release....let's assume the next one is the TCU. Once the TCU is done, another APIM will be there. And so on and so on until the truck is on Sync 23291 or no more updates are showing for these for modules as not all vehicles have all the updates released for them to be at the latest Sync software.
This just covers the Sync updates. There are dozens of other modules that also have pending updates as per the list below. The IPMA alone will take three hours to do, but the other ones are usually pretty quick. If they want to do them all for you, then lucky you. Most people do not get help from dealers when it comes to updates though.
@rugedraw update on my adventures. Ford took the truck back and performed 7 hours of updates for me. Still no full screen CarPlay and they sent me where they got to today. They called the ford hotline to see what to do next. Looks like I’m still in 2022 updates. Any advice you’d see on your end of things?
happy that they are helping me out!

That's because they didn't do them all. They updated the GWM, which released an APIM which they did, then a TCU, then the IPC, then another APIM and stopped. You are showing another GWM update now which is the next one in the sequence they would need to do to release more of these updates. Once you are on Sync 22294, you will have full screen phone capability.
The IPC update took them 4 hours. Seems like it wasn't go through the easy way and they had to push it in manually with FDRS. Same thing happened to my truck when I did mine with two different IPC updates. It was a huge PITA. They are on the right track and if they do nothing else, at the very least, they got you closer to where you want to be.

@rugedraw they are keeping the truck overnight to see if there is more updates. Hopefully they find the GWM and get back to it tomorrow. Exciting to hear it’s working.

@rugedraw UPDATE: just got the truck back after 2 days. Told me they performed 12 hours worth of updates and had to reach out to FSE multiple times for troubleshooting. I attached the update version
they got me to. Looks like I may be a couple behind current, but I have full screen CarPlay finally. They told me this is the most current they could get me. I’m just grateful they did all of this at no cost to me. Hopefully it won’t take too long for OTA updates to get me to current.
About a week ago while driving around my truck screen indicated it received a download a new update that would be loaded in the next Automatic Update window, indicated the truck would not be avaiable for 50 minutes or so.
When I got home I hooked the truck up to the battery charger and went back in to select "Update Now", but any indication of a new update was gone. The last update shown was one that was received a week earlier.
Nothing appeared on the Ford App about it. Nothing said what the mystery update was.
This just happened to me again, after a 10 minute drive I got notice that a new update was downloaded and it would apply the update tonight. When I got home, again I connected the battery charger and went in the menu to start the update now, but all indication of the download was gone.
In the about 3 weeks since the first time this happened I did get 2 updates and now up to 6.4.0.

That's the version that allows you to use full-screen carplay/android auto. They did get you much close to being fully up to date. You are only 3 Sync versions behind the latest now. You'd need 23031, 23159 and finally 23291 to be fully up to date as far as those modules are concerned.

@rugedraw okay. Do you foresee me having trouble with OTA updates to become current based on where I am now? I feel bad calling them back to tell them I’m still behind after all they did haha.

I would not say trouble is the right word. It will be a while before the OTA process gets you caught up seeing that new updates are released all the time.

Dang it is a shame when they put out a new update I can’t get the old ones too.
do they put out the updates I need less frequently and pump out newer updates more frequently?
