I had this problem. It was resolved by a dealer/Ford collaboration thast required their collaboration over several weeks. The resolution required both some new hardware and new software on my truck (2023 F150). That is, it is a fixable problem but was not an easy fix. Maybe Ford understands it better now and can fix yours much faster.

Refers to the problem of the "Software Update Status" and the circle going round and round

I thought I would post this OTA update as it may give hope to those waiting for software updates. Since March 17 2025 until today I’ve received 7 OTA’s. Vehicle is a 2022 F150 Lariat 2.7 Eco Boost. I bought it new and it’s on the original battery. 25,000 km. The truck has never been connected to wifi ever and I live on the east coast of Canada. (Atlantic)
March 13 Power up 6.8.0
March 22 Battery Optimization BCM 24.6.R
March 26 Software Experience Update ECG 24.2.5.6.3.1
March 29 Software 10.1.0 Sync 24.2.1.6
April 2 Software 10.1.1
April 11 Priority Update Air Flow HVAC 24.5.0
April 18 Functionality Window Performance DDM 25.12.0

Perhaps others have had similar updates. The truck has never received updates like this in the past so quickly. The battery optimization update as well as the window update took a few tries before successfully installing.

Take care

I haven’t received any software updates in months on my 23. Is there a way to tell what the latest release is?

If you are referring to the latest sync software, it's 24127.

ok that’s what it says I have. I was wondering because for a while it seemed like there were updates more frequently than I’ve seen in the last few months. Thank you

There are no plans to roll out 1.4 currently and it is only available on '25 Navigators and Expeditions. If they would update my software I would have considered continuing the subscription but I don't even want to give Ford my credit card info just to continue 1.0 for another year for free.
I received the OTA 1.4 update on my 2022 F150 a few months back.

Unfortunately, after working for a month or so, the problem has returned. (2023 F150, on the center screen go to settings, software updates and it shows a dot going round and round, and a message saying, essentially, just a moment. But it never completes. Possibly related, I now get a FordPass message that says "! Drive to reconnect vehicle", so I suppose that means the truck has lost communication with the mother ship.

It's been awhile since I've received any updates and I don't think I'm completely up to date any longer.
At times I see an update symbol on the dash but it never seems to install. I don't get any notifications on my Pass app anymore like I used to in the past.
rugedraw when you have time could you please check my vin to see if anything is happening I'd really appreciate it.
Thank You!

Did you try the 20 minute battery disconnect yet?
