Software Updates
Auto-updates being off only affects updates that require the vehicle to be inhibited. All other updates will install even with auto updates off. The update you got was for the TCU, I don't have any explanation why an update to your modem fixed the BC issue, but glad to hear it did!
I suspect that the open engineering ticket caused a little more to be done than a basic TCU update, or at least a very specifically targeted "TCU Update" as the behavior of various items changed a few times before settling down, unless they happened to find a bad line of code and I got the generic fix. Would be nice to know more.

Not sure if this is the thread for dumb changes, or just the software update process. If wrong, let me know and I'll remove it...
Sometime in the last couple weeks, there must have been an update that changes the default display. 2023 F-150 KR. The center screen always opened to whatever it was on last--Nav, Radio, etc. Other than a warning message or two, you always got your last screen, just like every vehicle I've driven in the last twenty years.
NOW... it defaults to the Home Screen Menu. Every friggin' time. I happened to be at the Ford dealer this morning (tire rotation), and mentioned this. Service Advisor said they make changes all the time, and even they can't keep up with them.
Why would you default to a different screen than the one you last displayed? Is there a setting I can change to avoid this?
Thanks.

Any chance you could look the stats for my 2023 F150 (VIN: 1FTFW1E86PFB51185)? It has been trying to install ECG-24.2.9 for weeks and always says that it was "interrupted". Thank you!
Strange-o-la, but it was a communication issue internally in the truck brought about by the previous update, when 3 modules ceased communicating. Anyhow, just to clarify, it was the entire suite of ADAS that was not functional, and the regular cruise only started working after I menu disabled the already not working items, and would warn me every time I set it that it was limited functionality.

I can tell you that certain modules do require a "cool down" period after programming where codes/issue go away after a few key cycles (IPMA comes quickly to mind). Maybe after they programmed the CCM, it needed a bit to settle in?

y'all say that OTA fail sometimes due to poor battery quality and take it for a drive to charge the battery. How about just putting a battery tender/maintainer on the battery overnight?
That'll work, too. Most people want instant gratification, so the driving method is faster. How you charge up the battery does not matter as long as you charge it.
It is failing due to poor battery conditions. I would take the truck for a nice 30 minute drive with the a/c fan speed set on 5 or higher to charge the battery up. Try to manually install it as soon as you park it. SoC is low at 54% and capacity is at less than half at 33 of 70.

I like this method a lot better. I put my H9 on a tender once a week. I also set my target charging to 95% via Forscan.
