Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a method to the madness when it comes to the update version? Did 2.7.4 really come after 6.5.0 and what's the difference with the format for a 6.x.x version versus a 23-PUxxxx-xxx-xxx?

All newer vehicles are connected vehicles that can be monitored. It isn't just a Ford thing.

If your radio presets were reset, it is possible that your truck received an update and that is what caused everything to be reset.
Of course I knew "Onstar" monitored your every move, but my question is, what is Ford monitoring, exactly?

Re the radio: I thought of that too, but I have had plenty of overnight updates done on this truck, and this was the very FIRST time that I've had this happen to my radio presets.

I have also received plenty of Sirius only updates in the past, but those have only happened when I was in the truck, with it running, and satellite selected as the source....and never had the presets messed with.

If you go into the touchscreen menu, there is a settings page where you choose what kind of info your truck shares with Ford. I have most of mine turned on, but I'm not one of these tin-foil hat wearing paranoid kind of people. Not that there is anything wrong with being cautious; I don't say that with any kind of derogatory connotations. I just think that a cell phone is a much more invasive device when it comes to data sharing than anything your truck will report to Ford.

I’m pretty damn tinfoil but I’ve got everything turned on but don’t get updates. Maybe no
OTA is my punishment for not getting the Covid vaccine

Re you charging with the negative to chassis or batter post?
Neg must be to chassis ground.

You can charge it on the negative post, but not directly on it to not bypass the BMS sensor.

Can you elaborate? I am familiar with shunt-type battery SOC monitors in travel trailers. Is the BMS on the truck the same? Everything connects to the BMS, not to the negative pole?

Fast forward to 6:30. That is where he explains what the BMS does and it also shows where he has the charger hooked up. Not directly at the negative post, but right after the sensor.

Clamp negative (-) right underneath where my pinky nail is in the pic or to a chassis ground.

Where your pinky is is correct. For best results, I would sand it down a bit to get the surface rust off.
