It turns out that the most prominent issue with my truck (2023 F150 Platinum Powerboost) was that the local squirrels had built a big nest in the engine compartment when the weather got really cold (for central NC). (Having a truck eaten by squirrels sounds comical, and it really is funny to think about, but it is also a serious concern around here.) In the process (or maybe in their spare time they chewed through lots of the wiring. People say squirrels like the taste of the insulation. Maybe the wires on new trucks taste better, as my previous trucks (over two decades) never had squirrel issues. Anyway, the truck has now been sitting at the dealer's service department for the last 10 days, waiting for replacement parts to come in. The dealer says what's needed is on "national backorder" and is unsure when they will be available. It's frustrating, partly because I had imagined having available parts would be a strength of an F150, but right now it seems a matter of just waiting.
I was wondering if you could give me an update on 1FTFW1E89NFA68427, it said it update 6.1.0 went through and was just wondering how many more updates I would need to be fully updated. Thanks again rugedraw!

That obviously sucks, but it is not unbelievable to me. In the Ford store I used to work at, we had raccoons make nests under the hood of vehicles and they loved chewing on wires and the fire-retardant insulation under the hood. The problem got so bad after a while, it became customary to pop the hood and check for rodents before starting a vehicle or going on a test drive. The dealer had to call a company to trap them and relocate them. It was a huge problem for a few months.
In the interim I am thinking about charging the squirrels a service fee of at least $800 per year. (smile)
