I got OTA power up 6.5.0 on December 8, 2023 for my 2021 xlt, does anyone know what the next OTA power up is for the job 1 2021 xlt is? Looking through FDRS, i have the BCM, ACM, and IPC updates, last time the dealer updated the IPC, it took 5 hours to update, how long does this new IPC update take? And is the new BCM update ok to complete?

Next OTA would be 6.8.0 which is the IPC update you see. I have a job 1 too, and both IPC updates before this one failed the USB process and had to be CAN'd in and took over 5 hours each one. This one went through with the USB process and was very quick.

If your XLT has the quad-LED lights, I would pass on the BCM. A few people reported headlight issues when it first came out. That BCM update has been out for a while now and it is possible that Ford fixed it, but there is a risk of headlights issues to those with those specific headlights.

I do have the quad beam headlights, so i might hold off on that one for a bit, and when i went to run the IPC update, it said it can take 3 hours or more, didn't give an option for USB update, but i didn't continue further it was late and didn't want to risk it. And the same thing when the dealer did the last IPC update, so i might just let it push through via OTA. and see what happens. I have the IPC with the 8 inch screen, not the full screen like higher trims.

Ah ok. Tbh, I am not sure if the 8" IPC has to be updated exclusively via the CAN process or not.

They do unfortunately. Only the 12 inch cluster has Ethernet capability for being updated via USB . And if you don't have a VCM 3 it takes about 4-5 hours using a VCM2/Mongoose

Got a notification in the head unit that the truck is going “out of service “ (my words) for a few minutes overnight to allow a trailer light update. This isn’t the first one of those my late 21MY has received.
