Personally, I think @rugedraw should be willing to accept $$ for his or her time helping people.
my contribution for today, this morning’s don’t drive update. Has me wondering if it’s related to the earlier update/recall some people, like me, got on the trailer light system.

Nah, I'm good. I'm fortunate to make a good living doing what I do. I do this during my down time at work and I like being able to help those that I can and are willing to listen. I have two Mongooses that I have on a loaner program which I sent out all over the country for people who want to update their trucks themselves and not shell out $600 for the tool needed to do so, and I also turn zero profit on that.
PU1009 is a BCM update that brightens the trailer position/tag lights according to Ford's filing with the NHTSA. However, people smarter than me that have extracted and looked at the files within the update say that it is also a fix for an issue where F150's with the quad headlights would flicker. That update has been around for months now.
Like many, I have a '21 job 1 truck that my last update was Sept. 2022. Took it into the dealership for a TSB on the driver's seat and asked them to try to update whatever had failed three times. They updated 3 modules and shortly after getting home FordPass sent me the notification for 3.5.4 and I now have full screen Android Auto and Alexa integration. Can anyone look up my VIN and see if I have other updates available, please?
Take a look at my Hands-free driving mode (BlueCruise) expiration date!
Got the above update on May 12, then May 19 I had 4.2.2 installed. I think I skipped a few...
Hands-free driving mode (BlueCruise) expiration date is still 2073!

Yea, I don't see 4.2.1 in your OTA history, but you must have got it if you got Sync 23031 and if you got 4.2.2. It is not the first time I see a truck get an update that does not get recorded on PTS. You're good to go.

I need your VIN to see anything. Do you remember what was the last update you got back in September?

Same here hadn't got one since October and got 3.5.2 overnight and was on my truck this morning. Hopefully this is a sign of them trying to get things somewhat back on track.
I just got my truck back from the dealer - it took them three days and a hotline call with Ford but I believe they have gotten me out of the update hell. I'm pretty sure I'm not running the latest version though (About Sync now says 21146_PRODUCT revision 145). What's the next steps?

The next step is to wait for OTA's to come in which now they should, but it will take a looooooong time before you're up to date. As of late, Ford has been pushing out newer updates to 2021 trucks that were missing the older updates and skipping over them meaning features you were supposed to get, you will not get including Bluecruise if your truck has the hardware for it. I still recommend to you and to everyone on here plagued by these issues to get a Mongoose and update the truck yourself.
