I see you got 2.7.3 back in 12/4. Based on your current Sync version, you are past the hump where these trucks get stuck. You just gotta wait for more updates to get sent to you.

You had 3.5.3 sent to you on 1/26. That same day, it downloaded much of the files it needs, but not all of them. Since then, it just hung in your queue doing nothing. The OTA trigger expired on 2/9. There is nothing you could have done to make it go through and nothing you can do now other than to wait for them to send it to you again.
yeah…I’m in the same boat. Message stated an update was pending. I did have voltage issues as Ruge stated in an earlier post so I went ahead and put a new AGM H7 battery in and reset the BMS.

My OEM battery was approaching 3 Yr so I wanted to eliminate that as a cause. Nothing for us to do but wait at this point

See my posts from yesterday. I did a reset of the BMS a week or so ago (I did not replace the battery). Then yesterday I got 2.8.1 downloaded for a second time. I last got it back in October, but failed to get it loaded after some dozen attempts. I had no OTA activity again until yesterday.
This time using a good battery charger and watching the battery voltage I was able to get it to load on the second attempt.
I don’t know if resetting the BMS had anything to do with getting the download yesterday, but others had mentioned it so I gave it a try.

No, that was just a coincidence. Glad you were able to get over that hump, though. Hopefully you get the next one sooner than later.

For those of us that have had updates fail on the first attempt only to have them work after putting them on a charger, I don't think that we can call that a coincidence anymore. It seems to be a pretty well proven fact that some, if not most of these OTAs have a high rate of failure due to battery issues. It seems Ford has built in some battery voltage prerequisites to these OTAs that the average guy, who lets their truck sit for longer periods of time will not be able to meet. Possibly because of a slow draw down on the battery from some essential components within the vehicle. Regardless, I believe Ford either needs to lower the voltage prerequisite or give us all better batteries.

He was talking about the BMS reset being a coincidence. Low battery voltage is a well known cause of not getting OTAs. It has been discussed many times.

I've been on 2.7.4 since 9/30/22. I had a week of failures in October of 22 and haven't seen anything come over since. Any chance someone can take a look?

Correct. Having a fully charged battery will not increase your chance of getting an OTA, but it will greatly increase your chance if it actually installing.

No OTA history in the past 60 days an no OTA in queue now. Based on your current Sync version, your truck is fine. You just haven't gotten any love from Ford in a while.

rugedraw last time you checked my VIN you said my truck was trying to download all the files for 3.5.3 on 1/27 and I still haven't anything new yet. Would you mind checking to see what may have happened?
I really appreciate the time you take to do all this for people. Thank you brother!

From what I have been seeing, this update has a 50/50 chance on installing when sent to people. In your case the OTA trigger expired on 2/9, but it is still trying to download files after the OTA expired which I have seen a few times. I think you are you going to have to wait until it is resent if it has not gone through at this point.
