I was surprised with an update today. My truck got 3.5.2. I had given up hope of getting updates pushed. There is hope after all. 😁

 

I just got off the phone with my Ford dealership and they told me that Ford will not complimentary update the truck UNLESS there is some sort of problem. Problems are covered under warranty. So I listed my issues with connecting my Apple Carplay, an instance of black screen, and it being very glitchy. The service writer said that's what he needed to hear and that he would submit my VIN to Ford and he'll get back to me on what they can do. Fingers crossed they take care of it. I will report back to this thread with results.

Yea, so they'll perform one update. You will still be very far behind. Either way, any update they apply will help the cause.

 

I wish more people would read this and understand that's how you get some stuff done. Demanding them to update your truck when it's working will not get you updates. If you have legit issues with the way that Sync is working then you should get some warranty work done. Great job. Stinks but it's the way that warranty will work for this!!

 

You'll likely get more coming in while you are driving around over the next few weeks. Once I got to 3.5.2, the rest arrived very quickly.

 

We can now use our cameras while driving? Which cameras? I've only been able to turn on the bed camera (the only camera with poor resolution) but I have not tried since the last few updates were applied to my truck.

 

Chances are, you will not see the older updates that you were missing unless you install them manually. IF you can install them manually as some of these updates are sequential and I am not sure if you can install the older updates now in a straight forward manner. This is is going to be a problem. If your truck was a Bluecruise truck and this happened, then no Bluecruise for you. You are missing the following:

Yes, that's what I was referring to. He never got the update that allowed that. He can't do the checkered sticker thing on the trailer for the back-up assist, either. This is a HUGE screw up by @Ford Motor Co. . They are pushing these 3.x.x updates to a bunch of trucks that still don't have all the 2.x.x updates. Once that happens, there is nothing I can do to help and neither can the dealer. These updates would have to be side-loaded by Ford engineers and that is not going to happen. It is almost as if they are doing it on purpose and giving up on the 2021 trucks that are still on older software. If that's the case, it's a tremendous slap in the face to their customers.

 

Can I have a VIN check when available please? I have gotten a few updates recently, but I still don't have the option for the rear view camera at speed.

You got 3.52, 3.5.3, 3.5.4 and 4.21 all between May 9th and May 17th. As long as you got all the older updates, your truck is on track.
