I remember having issues with 2.8.1 a long time ago, and then suddenly a few weeks ago they started rolling in. Should I now be able to have my rear view camera (tailgate) at speed? If so, is there something I need to turn on to enable it?

Thanks!

If 2.8.1 never went through, then neither did 2.8.2 or 2.8.3 which means no cameras at speed and you may never get it now This issue where Ford is pushing updates to trucks that are on older software is very new and the implications are not fully understood, but if it is as bad as I am being told it is, it's pretty bad. The more options and tech a truck has, the more difficult it will be to get it updated correctly.

Is there any way to enable the camera at speed using Forscan?

Default Checking up

Would someone be willing to check my VIN again? 1FTFW1E82MFA09279

I got several updates in a row over the course of about a week back in March ending with 3.5.2, but then nothing since then. Thanks in advance for the help.

3.5.3 was sent to you on 4/6, but it timed out and failed two weeks later because it was not able to download all the files it needed. It was sent to you again on 5/8 and it is in your queue now trying to download the files again, but when it takes this long, it is a sign that the update will fail. This update has a very high failure rate. There is nothing you can do to help it go through and there is nothing wrong with your truck The problem is on Ford's side.

Notice @rugedraw you mention the rear cameras. That’s something I’ve been able to do for a while now. Up to 4.2.4 now.

the camera thing is a little freaky at first but becomes useful when towing. Especially to watch those idiots behind and along side my trailer.,

Thanks a million again Rigdraw. You rock! Is this a battery voltage problem where I should be leaving my truck on a tender while parked or is it a file corruption issue?

I cant wait to try mine out today when I leave work.

Can you select multiple cameras, or is it just one camera that is enabled during speed?

Yes, because you got the older updates that includes that features. These guys who are skipping the 2.x.x updates will not have that or a few other things.

No, this is an issue with particular file(s) in this particular update that don't download with the rest of them. I have seen it happen on countless trucks; many times the same truck has it happen several times before it actually goes through.

It's just the rear facing cameras. I think you can switch from the camera over the bed to the back-up camera if I remember correctly. I only use the bed camera when I'm towing my boat, but I think you can switch to the other camera, too. Not 100% sure, though.

Well the service writer called me back around 4:30pm and said their was another 4 to 8 hours left on updating the modules with no way of knowing for sure and asked if I needed the truck back tonight. I told them to keep it and keep on going. So that is a good sign since I know if they were done already they for sure would not have been updating the way it needs to be.

We’ll find out tomorrow hopefully how much they updated, but keeping it over night is a good sign I think!
