I have a 2016 F150 with Sync ( version 1 / 5.9 version) and Myford shows a Sync update available.
The problem is there is no download link and it wants me to take it to a dealer for install.

Question~

Is the update worthwhile / add anything worth the effort and is there anyplace I can download and self install ???

So to me it looks as though you still can't go to what I would consider a true "full screen". Like have the entire screen (minus the top and bottom menu bars) be Apple maps or podcasts or other apps that would take up the whole screen. In this image it still looks like music or other apps take up a portion of the screen. Is it possible to go "full screen" with just one app running in carplay? Thanks.

 

No, it does do full screen. That's a crappy example of a CarPlay full screen screenshot that confuses things.

 

I don't have FDRS, but I see you got 2.8.3 and the two non-numbered updates you get before 3.5.2. This means as far as OTA's go, you are only missing 3.5.2 and 3.5.3.

Mine failed many times the first release. Second time I researched and found out I had to do the battery charger method to make it load. I don’t have a fancy new school battery charger, just an old one from the 1980’s and I hooked it up on charge and manually downloaded the update and it worked. Having it on the low setting didn’t work, only the jump start setting.

 

Realy sorry if this was discussed before, i just upgraded apim from 8” 12” on a STX and just looking to update APIM software while on the truck, possible?

the 12” apim i got is off a lariat but unfortunately cant get the vin of that truck!
