Thanks for the confirmation. That's why I like this forum - it's like a therapy session to find out it's not just me and my truck! 🤣

I mentioned a few posts back about getting module updates and still needing more. The "Rear Brake Assist Not Available" warning and dong had finally disappeared. I verified it was switched on and toggled between on and off to ensure the proper screens would show. Then I tested it today. First with my niece's inflatable pool swan - "killed" it. Then I placed a very large plastic suitcase behind the truck. I got all kinds of warnings, but ended up not stopping automatically and moved the suitcase a few feet. I hate to think if it was a kid on a tricycle...

Had the same problem. Since the APIM isnt working properly, its going to think the software is up to date, because it cant reach out and look for updates. Tried to explain this to a small town dealership and it was like I was speaking greek. With Mongoose, USB to RG45 dongle, USB adapters, FDRS with 3 rentals, and im in about $730 to fix it.

Could you elaborate on what you're doing to mirror the screen? I haven't gone looking, but definitely interested to try that!

1FTFW1E87MKD06796 if someone doesn't mind verifying that I'm not crazy.
No OTA history within the last 60 days. I can't tell if your APIM is bad with what I can see. I do see you are on Sync 20262 which is a very old version. I see they tried to update your APIM and perform a repair procedure on it with no success. It is possible that your APIM is faulty, but chances are, your dealer is going to have to open a case with Ford engineering for that to be diagnosed. If that is the case, be prepared to wait weeks for it as they are on national back order.

First of all, to do it without a third party device like the Magic Box, I think you have to have an Android phone. The developer that made the app(s) I use depend on an open source platform, so he did not make them for Apple products. Even then, the apps are not available on the Google Play Store.....you have to side load them onto your phone. I use an app called "Carstream" which creates an YouTube app on your truck's screen but runs off of your phone. The app I use to mirror the screen is called "Screen2Auto" and it is also off the market and can only be installed by side loading the apk file directly onto your Android phone or tablet.

The guy that made those files @Jesse - Infotainment mentioned on gen14 forums recently that he is no longer making those files for people because the fix is no longer working. There is no harm in leaving the USB in there and hoping that it does initiate, but if I were you (and anyone else I provided the files to), I would start thinking of a plan B to get your truck out of OTA limbo. There are not many options. You have to go through a dealer or invest the time and money needed to get the tool you need to fix it yourself.

Best to DIY if you have the time and funds. The PCM update alone was worth it.

Can someone look at my VIN and let me know what they see in terms of what versions I have? My VIN is 1FTFW1E86MKE57922

Looking thru this thread I see many acronyms which I assume represents the many different modules in the truck. Is my understanding correct?
I know from looking in the Fordpass app on my phone the power-up on truck is currently at 3.5.2. Does this mean that all my modules have been updated?

The other question I have is the Sync version. I know from looking in the Fordpass site the Sync 4 version on my truck is 4.0.22192. I understand from this thread that the latest version is 22293. How do I get to the 22293 version?

Thanks much!

Yes, the acronyms are referring to different modules. As a 2021 owner, being on 3.5.2 does not mean you have all the older updates installed. With PTS, I cannot see what modules on your truck are pending updates. Based on the Sync history of your truck, it seems like you got some of the older updates, but I can't tell if you got them all because I can only see 60 days into the OTA history of vehicles. I do see you got 3.5.2 in October, but cannot see anything prior to that.

There is no way to fully update to the latest Sync version or to force update to modules other than to invest money in a Mongoose OBDII tool and an FDRS license from Ford and do it yourself.
