Software Updates
So I tried the APIM reset and it just failed again. I will put it on my charger when I get home this evening and see how things go. Should I leave the charger connected while running the update or should I remove it? I find it weird that my truck is only a little over a year old and I don't have a full battery. On top of that, my commute is about 30 miles each way, so I would think that would be enough to keep it charged.
Thanks again for the info!

You don't have to leave the charger on. Again: Many people on this thread have reported charging their battery to 100% and they still get the same low battery error. This particular update is very finicky to install for whatever reason. Some people had it go through without the parking brake being on and without turning off the auto headlights, some people had it fail a dozen times until they tried it with the brake on and headlights off, some people have had it go through the first time without any incident, etc.
Thanks again!
Understood. I have already tried the parking brake on and headlight switched off trick, but still no luck. Hopefully the battery charge will help move things along. In the end, the only reason I want this update is so I can get updated to 2.8.3 and be able to use my camera at speed. I'd like to be able to check on my boat while towing.
Thanks again!

August 2 saw mine get another update to 2.8.3.
mine’s scheduled to look overnight, the time I rarely use it. I can imagine it getting all screwed up if you drove out of WiFi range while updates are downloading

WiFi is not required for OTA updates as per ford OTA representative I spoke to
I have a 2021 F150 PowerBoost that has been stuck without the ability to do a software update for quite a while. I can't get Blue Cruise installed because of the update problems that many of us have experienced. I brought mine into the dealer and the first problem was that the Battery Monitoring System was reporting the wrong voltage... so order that part and come back later to have that installed. Then once that was fixed, they tried to do the update. ACM module wouldn't accept the update. They tried twice and then gave up. I now have a replacement ACM module on back order. Who knows how long that will take to come in.
The dealer clearly hates to see these problems come in because it takes their tech's so much time to work on the problem. The local dealer has only a single person on staff who can do the software updates so when you make an appointment its really just a request to put your vehicle in this poor persons task list for the week. Its not a fun feeling to see the service manager person wince when you tell them why you are there. What a mess....

Can I get a quick VIN check please? 1FTFW1E54MKD15459
I was pending 2.8.1 for weeks now and after so many failed attempts it seems the update has dropped from my FordPass and is no longer showing as pending on the truck. When I attempt to hit manual update on the truck it tells me the truck is up to date. Any help would be appreciated as I may have to schedule a service appointment to get things fixed/broken for good.

No, eventually, the update will get pushed to your truck again. There is just no way of telling when. For whatever reason, you do not have the FSA/recall for BlueCruise programming on your VIN, so you are at the mercy of the OTA's unless you pay out of pocket for the dealer to do it.
