Software Updates
I got a call from my Service Advisor today saying that they were given a new procedure to get BC working. They had tested it on another 150 that came in the day after mine but was having the same exact issue. They had to go in and change something in the truck via FDRS, and then Ford engineers added the VIN to the OTA system to update last night. Lo and behold it worked and the truck now has BC activated. They had me come in today and did whatever they needed to do in FDRS, and have added my VIN to tonight's OTA update list. Fingers crossed that it works. If it doesn't, Ford told the Tech he would need to order an APIM and replace the unit.
I will let you all know how things go overnight for the OTA.

You use the word "recall". I don't know whether you meant to say "software update". No such recall listed for my vehicle (assembled March '21). And what would the Engine Control Module ("ECM", right?) have to do with being able to receive OTA updates?
You don't have specifics about what that "something"/"whatever" done via FDRS is? Would you please ask, then update us? Since your dealership said that they "were given a new procedure to get BC working", would be good if the rest of us could bounce that off of our dealers. Enough mysteries already. Thank you in advance.
I am taking it back in Monday for the APIM replacement that will hopefully be done while I travel for the week. If I can get with the tech and get more info, I will definitely post any details.
No joy on the update….. I had zero activity on the trucks network interface. I know the link works since I can access remotely with FordPass to lock/unlock where there is then activity shown on my network monitor. Taking it in Monday for an APIM replacement…. See if that works…
Meant to say your third sentence.

Wow, someone who actually received a very recent update via OTA. I've been stuck on 2.1.1 for months, and my service visit on Wednesday through Thursday hasn't seemed to change that. I'll post specifics about that visit to the dealer, inc. lessons learned, when I have a little more time to evaluate the outcome. For now, will anyone who has succeeded in getting the OTA's coming again please describe how that was accomplished--inc. if, like myself, you've put a pause on pursuing the problem-laden 21G01, and simply want to restart the OTA's? Sounding more like APIM replacement is key, although there hasn't been a recall of them.
On the night I was supposed to get the OTA update, my Eero system had no traffic going to the truck. I used FordPass to request a remote lock to verify that the network link from Ford to the truck was working, at which time I saw the Eero activity on the network going to/from the truck. So that told me the Ford OTA system should have had the ability to initiate the OTA update...
OK, Electronic Control Module = ECM ... vs. Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module. Speaking of "whatever". I hadn't heard of that one for the Electronic Control Module previously. Anyone else have light to shed on this? Have you received the same notification? My truck was assembled in March '21. A little tutorial on the differences between recalls vs. TSB's vs. Customer Satisfaction Programs vs. Field Service Actions, inc. any overlap between them, would be awesome, too. Seems to me that recalls have always been safety-related.
