2016 Tracking Thread
Ordered 2016 King Ranch, EB 3.5, White Platinum,6.5 Bed, Max Tow, Tow Mirrors, Extend Fuel Tank. Ordered 9/23. Build of 10/26. Have repeatedly called Ford Marketing to find out why it hasn't shipped. They seemed to be in the dark about why. Was assigned a case number and was told Maria ( Regional Rep) would call. Maria did call to leave a message on Wife's phone that best source of info is my dealer. BS, BS, BS; dealer states they don't have a clue. Just physically checked 2 Lexington dealer lots; no 2016's seen. My dealer has received a few 2016's; but were XLs and XLTs. Maria is supposed to call 11/29. At this point my better judgment tells me to keep my 2013 Platinum that is paid for, and tell God Almighty Ford to stick it. I hope Chevy bumps them off their high horse. All signs point to me jumping ship.
Was informed by Rachel at Ford Marketing on 10/28 and 11/27 that 2016s would not be on dealers lots till December. Well, ask those on this FORUM HOW THEY ARE DRIVING A 2016. Even my salesman in Versailles,KY has show me several 2016s. so what does that tell us? Opinion is Ford Marketing farmed out to 3rd part who is also left in the dark. poor customer relations at it's finest1
Your salesperson is Ford's front line guy/gal. However, try speaking to them about the actual ordering, production and transport process and you'll be hard pressed to find one that actually knows it all in and out. Most of what we know on here has been from personal experiences and talking with people from various levels within Ford and their dealerships and then piecing it all together like some patchwork quilt, to form a coherent idea of what's going on.
I remember, before ordering opened up in late August, how many of us had spoken to dealers and gotten wildly different answers on when ordering would open, when production would start and when trucks would start showing up. At that time the best we had to go off of were the dates published on the various fleet sites, including Ford's and I personally found dealers that wouldn't even acknowledge that stuff as being accurate. They generally took the "who knows" approach. I'm sure this was mostly due to them knowing Ford's track record with sticking to "firm dates" and having been bit by telling a customer something in the past, that wound up changing.
...at the end of the day it is an imperfect system as it is run by people, but the great thing is we have this forum where we can interact with one another, share experiences and discuss this stuff to compare info and try to sort out the real truth of things. I for one am very grateful for the people I've met on here and gotten to commiserate with, over the past few months, through the process of ordering and the endless waiting.
Yep, I'm getting a bit peeved too...After having my ordered 15' KR sit at the local railhead month after month last summer with a "hold" status, dealer then ordered a 16' KR mid Sept (due to order entry SNAFU, it did not get ordered till mid Oct) got a VIN and build date of week of Nov 16th and Dec 6th to arrive at dealer...NOW it has been bumped to a build date for week of Jan 25th and March 3rd to arrive at dealer!!! This will / would have been my 6th new F150...
Given the dates you're quoting, my personal recommendation would be to get back in touch with Maria and see if she can track down another truck that matches what you ordered, that is already sitting on a dealer's lot or is in transit to them. My dealer has had 4 KR's show up on their lot. That makes me believe they are definitely out there. Might be worth a shot versus waiting that long. Just a thought.

Well to quote my friend Charlie Sheen "winning" that's what Ford is thinking right now every time they see someone go away and buy a different truck it's "problem solved" and they still got your money, thank God you didn't get that recalled truck sitting in reject Yard or should we call it the fruit basket with extra lemons lol. Congrats anyway you made a good choice
